A few more:

Dark City (little seen sci-fi that Roger Ebert voted the best film of 1998).
The Debt (tight spy thriller with Helen Mirren and Jessica Chastain playing the same role at different ages).
Thirteen Days ( not a box office hit but really good Kevin Costner film about John Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis).
Runaway Jury (twisty court drama with great cast: Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, John Cusack, Rachel Weisz).

I'm going to throw a spanner in the works and suggest Ralph Nelson's revisionist western Soldier Blue (1970) as it may now be better appreciated in hindsight without all the hysteria that followed its initial release.
