Shame it isn't 16:9 too. 2.35:1 3D is a bit of a let down I think.
the depth is fantastic. But i was a little disappointed that there wasn't so many pop out scenes. There were some. But the underwater scene and fight with the giant was such impressive 3D

I agree 3D movies should fill the whole screen the 3D is more impressive if it fills the whole screen without these black bars. it should be costum now that the studios make 3D movies in the same format as Avatar where it fills the WHOLE screen

I really never thought that I would be moaning about films in their OAR Good Lord, what have I become!!?!?!? But it is true with 3D at home. Watched all of RE last night and I think if it had been in normal 16:9 then the overall 3D would have been so much better. Don't get me wrong, most of the 3D was good ... especially the fight with the giant, but something was lost. I picked up Monster House the other day cos' it was kinda cheap, but put it back down cos it was in 2.35:1. Years ago I would have put a film down if it WASN'T in 2.35:1

I was buying another BR title for my wife and I decided to make a stop at the 3D section of the big box store. They had this movie on sale for a good price so I had to pick it up.

I've read through the thread so I know what to expect.

My new 3D set won't be delivered till Friday so I'll watch this next weekend.

This is definitely a good choice for any 3D collection. Affordable, and multiple pop outs that are quite impressive. Anyone I have invited over, I have shown this one too, and no one has come away unimpressed.

Me too. If someone wants to see a non-animated 3D film this is the one I show them.

I skimmed over a few pages, but did not see the answer immediately. So here is my question:

If I get the 3D version, do I have the option to watch in 2D as well?

Is this one overall a great horror movie? Or is it more of a splatter-type deal?

The first film is about as close to horror as the series ever got. The rest are very corny, and action oriented only.
