Default The Philadelphia Experiment (2012) happens on June 11th 2013 - Pre-order

The Philadelphia Experiment Blu-ray

The Philadelphia Experiment (2012)

Anchor Bay Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of The Philadelphia Experiment (2012), director Paul Ziller's reimagining of the time travel cult classic. The film stars Nicholas Lea (Kyle XY), Michael Paré (of the original 1984 movie), Ryan Robbins (Falling Skies), Emilie Ullerup (Sanctuary), Gina Holden (Saw 3D) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), and streets on June 11th.

Official Synopsis: Truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. In 1943, a secret government project attempted to create a cloaking device that would make warships invisible. But during the first test, the USS Eldridge successfully vanished... and could not be found again. 70 years later, the Navy destroyer momentarily reappears on a Pennsylvania runway allowing the sole surviving crewman to escape and a local lawman to board. What is behind a sinister reactivation of the project? Where will the massive ship materialize next? And what will become of two men trapped in a time/space catastrophe? The Philadelphia Experiment will delight fans of the original film and create new debate among conspiracy theorists about this allegedly true military operation from the past.

The Blu-ray release of The Philadelphia Experiment features Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio. Anchor Bay has yet to detail the disc's extras.

WTF? I didn't know they remaked this masterpiece... when will they release the original one, which is one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time?

I was totally unaware of this remake as well. It either must be dtv, or it must be really bad, to have popped up from under the radar like this.

RT only has a couple of reviews, and they make this one out to be horrid.

If they release the original, I'd gladly consider buying it.

I was going to say the original was released by Twilight Time, but realized that my still half-asleep brain combined the titles "Philadelphia" and "Experiment in Terror" into one

I see Anchor Bay is continuing their downward spiral into mediocrity. No, I haven't seen the film. But the fact that it's coming out of nowhere is a telltale sign that it will suck. I don't even wanna think about what kind of CGI they're using (SyFy Channel-level or slightly better) for the time tunnel sequences. Watch my eyes light up when the original is announced.
