PS3 issues with multiple titles (V for Vendetta and Scream 4) - Blu-ray Forum

Hi all,

Tonight, as I'm sure others are, I'm going to watch V for Vendetta. Well, I was until my PS3 wouldn't recognize it. It didn't even show up in the Video tab. I tried my roommate's PS3 and the same thing happened. I tried a Panasonic in my bedroom and it worked fine.

Last week I wanted to watch Scream 4 for Halloween, so I popped it into my PS3, the disc launched, but was stuck on a black screen. Same thing on my roommate's PS3 that time as well. Eventually we found a solution for Scream 4 (disable the network connection; there were BD Live issues).

I have not found anything online about V for Vendetta. It seems that Sony has done something with the PS3 firmware that has caused issues lately.

Did anyone else encounter this with V for Vendetta? I can't be the only one because both my roommate and I had the same issue. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Post what firmware your PS3 is using.

I just tried mine, 4.30 firmware. works fine. but i see there is a new firmware I will try it and see

works with 4.31, v for vendetta is the one i'm testing. and not sure if there were multiple releases, but mine would be the first release. don't have scream 4 to test

Was on 4.30. Downloading 4.31 right now and will test tomorrow. It sounds like 4.31 might solve my problem.
