Dredd 3D amazon.FR

Got mine today from Amazon and delivered by DHL.

It was in a box about four times the thickness of the actual metal case. It was well packaged.

Mine was sealed with cellophane but still had scratches on the back of the tin. Not happy!

One thing is strange though,the 3D BD is region A and B,while the 2D BD is Region B locked.The DVD is region 2 locked.

I speak fluent french so the language isn't the issue for me, I'm just hesitating due to the size...As you said, it looks way taller

Just briefly popped the 2D disc in. The "mobile phone moment" with Ma Ma in the corridor is still present, but a lot better. Picture quality in general seems improved.

Yeah, that dodgy shot is much improved in this transfer, as is the entire PQ.

I'm glad someone did a "metal" case for this movie. I really like the choice for the back art. This movie deserves a proper release, I hope Alliance can jump on it.

I have just purchased the French 'Dredd' 3 disc metal pack. Does anybody know if i can turn off the French subtitles on the 2d blu ray disc?

Just got this BD set last night as I heard the 2D picture quality was better than the US/UK release...

I can confirm you can turn off the FR subtitles. You select the audio from the main menu before playing the film and the BD automatically turns on the FR subs if you select English audio. These can then be turned off using you BD player's remote, the option to cycle through subs will be in 'options' or the like if you don't have a dedicated button on your remote like me! Anyways, the subs aren't 'locked' on when selecting English audio, they can definitely be turned off (at least on my Panasonic BD player).

As for the 2D picture quality - for the most part it is excellent but there are definitely some dodgy scenes. I have only skipped through a small portion of the movie last night so I can't give a definitive critique regarding the PQ, but there are definitely isolated scenes where the PQ takes a nose dive... one I noticed with MaMa walking through a hallway talking to her henchman dude, another where a bunch of bad guys infiltrate the Peach Trees command centre thing and murder everyone so that the Ginger dude with weird eyes can lock the building down (there is a wide angle where you see all the guys in the room get shredded and the PQ dips big time). It's weird because the quality drops for one shot and then as soon as it changes angle the quality looks great again! Just mega grainy and blurry looking - very jarring for me. Are these issues present on all 2D releases? I would provide screen caps but I don't have a BD ROM in my PC yet...

Can't wait to watch this movie again... probably my favourite film of last year, I just wasn't expecting it to be much good!
