^They simply don't get it until "further notice".

I just realized about this Christmas special when I walked past WAL-MART, seeing the DVD on shelf. I held off hoping there was a Blu-Ray version but wow to discovered it's "cancelled" for unknown reasons - as if Sony removing the Spongebob Video Game from the PlayStation Store without explanation was bad enough!

If you look on iTunes, you can see that the Buy/Rent HD Movie options are there but grayed out. What is with them closing doors on its High Def release? People are just going to record it on TV now and share it in other means besides those who'd actually be willing to BUY it now.

You've got that right. This is unacceptable.

Check out some screenshots from the 1080i HDTV version I just pirated today (click thumbs):

Good job Viacom, you dumbasses. I would've bought this on Blu-ray but since you wouldn't sell it to me in HD I decided to steal it in HD instead.

Don't get me wrong this looks great, but this is a classic example of Nickelodeon dissing their fans. They did this to Stephen, and he left were the creative brilliance of seasons 1-3

Boo. I saw it in HD and it looked great, especially compared to the upconverted cartoon on Nick. Seriously disappointed.
"Upconversion, HA! You can keep your upconversion myself i will go for the true 1080p versions."

Totally a shame and missed opportunity. I don't know what I'll do if nick drops the ball when they release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I can live with spongebob in sd for the time being, but the tmnt animation is so good I don't think it'd buy on DVD
Horror Movie Club

Slipcovers I'm Missing: House of Wax/Thirteen Ghosts (Walmart double feature) Pride and Prejudice, Resident Evil (or steelbook), Saw III, Terminator Salvation, The Thing 2011, Trick R Treat (complete with original 2 disk packaging), Wallace and Gromit

They will: Nickelodeon is just a company to dissapoint it's customers. Look at all they've down in the past. John leaving Ren and Stimpy, How they pulled the plug on Rocko when it had a backup plug meanwhile ten years later they keep Spongebob without a backup plan (and look where the quaility went), Craig being pressured to stay, and how Angry Beavers were canceled. I love their products but I don't love Nickelodeon as a company

Wow, this is the first I'd heard of this. The trailer was so good I was ready to pull the trigger right this very second, but dammit Nick, why you cancel all the nice things?
