I got the Cyan collection (Myst series excluding Exile and Revelation, which I have) for $15. Also got Ghost Recon Future Soldier-Deluxe for $17.50, Trauma for $1.78, and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle DLC for $1.50 (which I'm still pissed Sega sold old content as DLC).

Dumb, and embarrassing, question. How does Steam work? Same idea as something like digital games on Amazon?

Can they be gifted?

You do need an account and need to login to play (or use that disaster they call offline mode).

Games can be gifted. Just select gift at checkout. If you want to send it at a later date, purchase as gift and put your email. When the time comes, you can click on manage gifts (or whatever they call it, it's been a while) and resend the gift to the proper email address provided the gift hasn't been claimed (which it shouldn't if you send it to yourself and don't touch it).

Just built my gaming PC this week. Wonderful timing, eh? So far picked up Humble Indie Bundle 7, Unmechanical from Steam and Sleeping Dogs from GMG for $11.90 with $6 credit. Amazon will be having a bunch of sales next week too.

Now I just need Far Cry 3 to go on sale. Or someone to trade it for my AC3 code

I almost pulled the trigger on the guilty pleasure that looks to be Scribblenauts, but $20 seems way too high, even for a game that came out 4 weeks ago. Saw that TotalBiscuit in his daily "Steam Salebox" videos put an annotation that Amazon will have it on sale for 75% off 12/24-12/26, and the listing says it requires Steam, which is absolutely awesome!

Hey is anyone here using pre-paid cards and having issues loading up the codes? I got a $20 card as a gift, and it says it isn't able to load. I'm assuming the network is going down, but I'd like to get COD4 on the sale.

I haven't tried since before the sale, but I never had an issue redeeming a Steam Wallet code. Redeem same way as a game for me. Once I enter code, it takes me to the Steam Wallet code redeem page automatically.

I'll probably be entering one tonight or tomorrow that I got. I entered one a couple days ago and had no problem. If it's not working now maybe it's Christmas clogging? I had a couple friends say redeeming PSN cards was really tough today too and they were likely getting hammered, so I guess it wouldn't surprise me if Steam was similar.
