SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE has to be the big one for me. Over the years I've purchased:
1. Laserdisc* 2. VHS 3. Bootleg VHS of ABC television edit 4. Original DVD boxed set 5. 2006 DVD boxed set 6. Single release Blu-ray 7. "1978-2006" Blu-ray collection *I feel like it's important to note that I just bought the laserdisc within the last year, ha. Granted, some of those mean that I also own SUPERMAN III and IV a bunch of times, too, but I think THE MOVIE is still king as far as my collection goes. As far as sheer money goes, though, I think those damn LORD OF THE RINGS movies probably have it beat, though. I have the individual theatrical DVDs, the extended DVD box, the theatrical Blu-ray box and the extended Blu-ray box. Because they were all purchased instantly after becoming available over the years that's like, a million dollars. Last edited by Steve Lilley; 04-25-2013 at 09:55 PM. |

If we're talking how many times I've bought x movie, I'd be listing that shit all night.
For Blu-ray duplicates that I own right now, that'd be Blade Runner (standalone Final Cut and 5-disc briefcase), Watchmen (US DC and recent Ultimate cut re-release), Avatar (3D and SE), Tron Legacy (2D and 3D), LOTR trilogy (German steels and UK EE boxset). I think that's all of 'em. |

None, I don't like throwing my money away. Sometimes I might upgrade an edition, but I'd quickly sell off the old one.

David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo:
- Japanese steelbook with slipcover and booklet featuring promotional photographs by Jean Baptiste Mondino. - Blu-ray with Rooney/Trees disc art - Blu-ray with Daniel/Rooney disc art - Blu-ray with Harriet/The Killer disc art - Limited Edition DVD with collectible poster - Original motion picture soundtrack - Rare Academy promo "For Your Consideration" score featuring unreleased music - Rare Academy promo "For Your Consideration" script - Crew t-shirt, American/Swedish flag design, obtained from assistant director - Teaser poster designed by Neil Kellerhouse - Theatrical poster designed by Neil Kellerhouse - Rare Promotional Chicago poster designed by Neil Kellerhouse (unused theatrical art). I know everything after the fourth point isn't Blu-ray, but this is what I have so far related to the film.

I also have duplicates of the first two Harry Potter films, but that's only because the Ultimate Editions contain extended versions.
Oh, and I have the original release of Sucker Punch, along with a sealed OOP Canadian 1st release steelbook. So in total, only three titles that I own have duplicates. Slipcovers Wanted:

I'm still trying my best to get a steel poster that was given out to promote it. It's in the shape of a razor blade. Fincher's official promotional site thanked me for helping to promote the film, and that they would have given me one had they had any copies left. By the way, your method of choosing which version of a title to buy is also the same as mine: 1. Digibook 2. Steelbook 3. Digipak 4. Slipcover 5. Slipless Slipcovers Wanted:

YES! I even entered a contest to see if I could win it, but it was UK only. The teaser poster has the same image. Slipcovers Wanted:

Halloween is one of the few films that I have multiple copies of. Here is the list of the different editions that I own:
1. 1998 Single Disc THX Remaster 2. 1998 Two Disc Limited Edition w/TV Version 3. 2003 Two Disc 25th Anniversary Edition 4. Single Disc TV Version 5. 2007 Blu-ray I also have the Universal and Shout! editions of Halloween II. My Universal edition is the corrected version that restored Moustapha Akkad's credit. I have Grindhouse along with the separate editions of Planet Terror and Death Proof. Last but not least, I have the original Star Wars trilogy spread across VHS, Laserdisc, DVD and Blu-ray. |
