Agreed, they look awful. I made the mistake of viewing the 3rd movie on my projector and quickly came to realize the rest of them needed to be viewed on my 51" plasma instead.

The noise reduction isn't too bad on TMP and the jacked-up contrast certainly gives the movie a very punchy look, but after Khaaaaaaaaan the PQ rapidly goes downhill as the DNR gets ever more pervasive.

Same here re: the original cuts, but I'd take properly remastered DCs over badly done theatricals. If offered that I'd bite Paramount's goddamned hands off at this point.

Yes! I projected the 3rd movie as well and it looked awful. I shut it off about 30 minutes in and watched the rest on a smaller screen. I'm not sure which is the worst transfer but they all kinda suck. Thank God Wrath of Khan looks decent.
