People ***** about "no originality left in Hollywood" but when a original movie comes out they ignore it and it flops.

Originality alone doesn't guarantee a good film.

I agree.
I felt lied too. Still upset. Seems every year there is always a top 15 film to look forward too and it crashes badly.

whatever happened to the polls? i would give it a 3/5 - the one murder in the movie came out of nowhere. i was shocked actually! overall i found myself laughing during the movie (dark humor) but the ghost scenes were so pg-13 style. and i think this film was 'inspired' by the shining and rebecca (maybe even notorious)

Didn't see any trailers for this, no TV spots, nothing.
Went in blind.
Saw it in 2D IMAX.
While it was an ok film. It could have been so much better with a bit more back-story revealed and more of a Horror angle.
Looking for the following:
- Game of Thrones: Season 1: HBO Shop Bonus Disk
- DigiBooks of the following: Exorcist, 300, Willy Wonka, Alexander, The Bridge ot River Kwai, Falling Down, Alien Anthology, Goodfellas, Cinderella, Dark Knight Rises
- Star Wars: Episodes 2 & 3's DVD Bonus Disk
- Star Wars: A Musical Journey Bonus DVD
- 2004 DVD Return of the Jedi (WideScreen)

Finally saw this last night and really loved it. It was visually stunning as expected from Del Toro and the story kept me intrigued until the end. Even my girlfriend liked it and she typically doesn't like anything even remotely scary. 4.5/5
