ok then, you keep telling yourself that your just arguing black is white for the sake of it.

from wikipedia:

Total Recall is a 2012 American dystopian science fiction action film remake of the 1990 film of the same name, which was in turn loosely based on the 1966 short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick.

definition of remake frrom wikipedia

A remake is a piece of media based primarily on an earlier work of the same medium.[citation needed] In movies, a remake is a motion picture made from a film produced earlier.[1] The term remake can refer to everything on the spectrum of reused material: both an allusion or a line by line change retake of a movie.[2] However, the term generally pertains to a new version of an old film.[3] A reproduced television series could also be called a remake.[4]

It isn't based on the older movie though is it? so yeah, it's not a remake. Wikipedia says it's a remake, good source, bro. It's not as if I could change it myself and call the movie a potato.

of course its based on the old movie. why do you think everyone has the same name, hes goes to 'recall' cause he wants to have memories of being a secret agent just like in the old movie. the biggest difference with the movies is that in the arnie one they go to mars. they couldnt make both movies identical could they?!?! There had to be some differences

have you even seen the first movie cause it sounds like you have no idea what your taking about. go troll somewhere else, this is getting boring now saying 'its not a remake' over and over.

both films share the same bloody name, does that not give it away enough to you?

"He awoke - and wanted Mars" first line from the short story and unless Quail had a hankering for a choccy bar it already puts the 1990 version closer to the book. He didn't awake and want a trip in a lift that defies physics. Neither film is close to what Dick wrote but 2012 by copying and adapting scenes and characters from 1990 defines itself as a remake not a fresh adaptation.

Which part was upsetting?

* the very long wait
* the Jiffy bag packaging
* the damage to the steelbook
* the movie itself (which failed to live up to enormous expectations)
If you have OCD, then you should not be collecting Scanavo SteelBooks™.

I may tolerate a few minor scratches and dents, but a SLASH IS WHERE I DRAW THE LINE.
