So far for me, its a tie between Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx and Josh Brolin as Agent K.

I think Cruise is slightly better, but only just.

From what I've seen so far, Liam Neeson's performance in 'The Grey' is by far the best. I predict that Bill Murray will get a nomination for Hyde Park on Hudson, and Ben Affleck will be nominated for Argo.

As a prediction I'm going to say Daniel Craig in Skyfall and Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil Retribution.

Joaquin Phoenix is almost a clear nominee
I don't think Hardy will get nominated (The Dark Knight Rises will only get technical awards)
Sam Jackson's character in Django is supposed to be the strongest part of that film relying on how he plays him.
DDL can't not get nominated for Lincoln, no matter how awful that film could come out.

Wait... Samuel L Jackson is in Django Unchained? Or are you confusing him with Jamie Foxx?

Yes, I'm serious.

I think Craig's best film was Casino Royale and I'm hoping he can repeat his performance in Skyfall.

Milla on the other hand is a great actress who puts a lot of effort into her films.

He was good but incredible is a little bit too much of a stretch for me.

Cruise was the best bit of his movie and pretty damn good. I would also rank his performance better than Brolin and just like you, just.

I will have to see these movies before passing judgement but despite Hardy being a talented actor, superhero movies regardless of how realistically portrayed usually never get an oscar but i'm pretty sure he'll be in the mix.

I think The Master and Django Unchained are gonna be the big ones to watch this year for awards on the male actor side of things. Although i need to see both movies to give a final evaluation. I have a strong feeling on the female side though Anne will be getting a nomination.

Those two above movies though are usually the type of movie that gets Oscar attention and usually the awards. Big budget movies rarely get given the same such credit so it's not gonna be suprising to see a lack of awards for such films despite both TDKR and Avengers very likely being the best yet in the genre.
