Not only that, when I watched it last night the default audio is "Stereo" and I had to go into the settings and change it to DTS HD Master. My AVR kind of got shocked with the change and the sound kept going out for a split second for about 30 seconds. Wouldn't you think they would have made the DTS HD Master the default audio? Loved the concert though and had no problems after that first 30 seconds.

Does this blu ray have English subtitle?

I'm looking forward to the freed up space in my cabinet.

Thought I'd give my 2 cents worth here. After watching and camparing the DVD vs. Bluray, hands down Bluray all and all night. The DVD looks so grainy on my 42" Vizio but the Bluray looks 110% better. The sound is awsome as well. Even though I do not have a stereo than can play DTS-HD it still sounds great. So overall well worth the purchase.

HD-DVD vs BD Release

I registered just to comment on the BD Release as the HD-DVD version (which I own) is my stand out Music Video release, and in comparision I'd say:
- Both Audio Tracks are (to my ears) identical though they may have craked the loudness slightly
- Video on the HD-DVD was VC-1 running sub 20Mb/s while the BD release is AVC 264 running sub 30Mb/s. To my eyes the BD release is "better" thanks to the extra bitrate and codec but in reality both are very good. For the poor lighting environment of a Concert they did a terrific job and shows why higher FPS is a winner (time to move off 24fps IMHO).

These are both great pressings and this was the last HD-DVD disk I want to be released on BD. Fantastic! For me it was worth the re-purchase.

Couldn't agree more. This HD DVD was the last one I owned along with my X-A1 player. I never thought they'd release this on Blu, but it looks like with the Eagles 3 hr. documentary out now on Showtime, they're going for the cash grab by releasing this (finally!). The BR has better PQ and the 5.1 lossless audio may well be the best I've heard in a concert BR. Now, more room in my rack for more toys............hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I find Don Henley to be a mighty fine drummer IMO, plus he can sing AND drum at the same time:

Though no lead vocals, Henley's background percussion on "You Belong to the City" is colossal, and the highlight of the track, IMO. The DTS-MA on this BR is as good as it gets.

Just saw this using the 5.1 sound. Great video and sound but I found the guitar mix should be more up front. I think it occupied the same space as the horns and, in my system, they kinda fight each other a bit. Also, on one of the last songs, I kept hearing acoustic guitar on the left when all the players were on the right.

Concert-wise, it was really good. Wished they release Hell Freezes Over so Felder is in on the act. The hired guitarist was good but felt a bit like a session player. Also, I hated the spasdic zoom and pan to random audience members...like they gave a camcorder to some joe public to do that part. Oh, last gripe...speaking of audience, given the demographic of the fans nowadays, did anyone else think all those audience shots start to feel like a Cialis commercial?

The Eagles announce Summer 2013 Tour.

Story:

[Show spoiler]
Quote:
If you’ve been hoping to catch the Eagles on tour this summer, you just might be in luck — if you’re willing to drive to see them. The legendary California rockers have announced a limited number of shows for their ‘History of the Eagles’ tour, which will kick off July 6 in Louisville, Ky. and wrap up in Bethel, N.Y. on July 25.

The famously tight-lipped group recently rolled out a documentary titled ‘History of the Eagles,’ which is slated for release on DVD and Blu-ray on April 30. Their upcoming road trek will continue in that vein, featuring songs from across the broad spectrum of the band’s career, as well as some of the band members’ solo hits.

Singer/drummer Don Henley said in February that the tour “could very well be our last . . . we’re gonna include at least one former band member in this tour and kinda go back to the roots, and how we created some of these songs. We’re gonna break it down to the fundamentals and then take it up to where it is now.”

Though he declined to say which former member he was talking about, rumor has it that the upcoming shows may feature original guitarist Bernie Leadon. A press release announcing the tour did not mention any past members.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, March 28 at 10AM. An exclusive pre-sale for American Express card members goes on sale Saturday, March 23 at 10 AM. The tour news release described the concerts as the “currently announced” tour dates, so more dates may be revealed soon.

‘History of the Eagles’ 2013 Summer Tour Dates:

7/7 – Milwaukee, Wis. – Summerfest
7/9 – Cleveland, Ohio – Quicken Loans Arena

I find the audio and video quality to be the same as the HD-DVD, but I like the BD song selection menu better. Also, access to the songs on the Blu-ray is much faster than the HD-DVD.

Hello,

Maybe I am in the minority here but the HD DVD sounded better than the blu ray in my Home Theater with great fidelity and stronger vocals through the center channel.

The menu on the blu-ray loads faster and it has a better design.

I really enjoy this blu ray, I've watched it about a dozen times already. It's basically a greatest hits album in a live setting, however it's missing Witchy Woman but its still a great set list.
