Finally on "sale!" I wanted to pay $14.99 or less, but this will have to do.

I just watched Aldrich's Kiss Me Deadly on Blu-ray and I remembered that I didn't own Baby Jane (

[Show spoiler]both films end at the same beach

).

Hopefully more Joan Crawford films will hit Blu-ray soon. Possessed (1947) and Mildred Pierce would be nice.

For whatever reason that is going on in my offbeat head, I still enjoy the mock movie Mommie Dearest more than this. And I know that movie gets nowhere near the reviews (good) that this does.

I know it's not a real Crawford movie but the reason I liked it is for the offbeat performance by Dunaway. It's really the same and only reason I would watch Baby Jane. For the performance by Davis.

I sort of watch these as campy movies. I think I'm too young to appreciate the real movies anymore. I did watch Dead Ringer and thought it stunk and was looking forward to it because I thought it would be another fun mess by Davis.

The best part of the movie was the kicking scene. Fun fact: Davis intentionally connected her shoe to Crawford and gashed her scalp for stealing her man in real life.

Yaay got my copy today after Amazon's been out for quite awhile. Will watch this later tonight, heard so many good things about this movie.

I finally watched this last night. I had held off buying the blu ray because of the higher price and because the DVD always seemed to look to me like an over lit TV movie. But the blu ray is fantastic. It isn't at all over lit. There are deep shadows with lots of detail that I never noticed on DVD. Excellent transfer.

This was a blind buy for me. I had it on my tracker after reading about it in Fangoria, of all places. Very creepy film, fantastic performances by both leads.
