Amazon Best Value deals are commonly seen on this forum when you buy two blu-rays together from Amazon some additional amount of money is given back to you as a promo for buying both items at the same time.
For the longest time I have wondered how people discover these deals. I just figured people stumbled upon them and posted them. But that seems so chaotic and non-searchable. So off and on I would attempt to figure out a way to pick these items off of Amazon without much effort. Now I believe I have done it, using Google as an aide! Searching google for the following terms (keep quotation marks) produces a ton of valid results that I shall consider my quest at least partly concluded! Code:
"at an additional " "off Amazon.com's everyday low price" "Format: Blu-ray" site:amazon.com Quote:

thanks OP! so easy to overlook these savings
in the sake of not overlooking some, other posters on the board have found: - $6 off Predators on BD paired with Predator (regular) on BD - (not sure if this is still on) Casino Royale on DVD paired with Karate Kid (BD only) adds a 5 off promo. with the lightning deal for CR at 1.99, this is fantastic |

Hey! I just bookmarked that page, haha. I will check back now and then. Currently its $15 per. Which I believe is reasonable but both being older movies, that I am not terribly in a hurry to acquire, I can wait until hopefully both of their prices drop a tad and its closer to $10-12 each.

Thanks mods for moving this out of the "Dead Deals" section. I didn't know where to put it when I made the OP.
So I put it where in the Movie & TV Deals main area, where I knew it would get seen by the most in hopes that 1)people would see it, appreciate it and use it... and 2)some mod would put the thread where it should go. Also thanks for the sticky. Never had a sticky before! |

I've refined it for you. Just replace blu-ray with "Format: blu-ray" (in quotes) to eliminate results stemming from blu-ray products being advertised on a non-blu-ray page.
http://www.google.com/#q=%22Best+Val...e%3Aamazon.com Code:
"Best Value" "Format: Blu-ray" "at an additional" site:amazon.com |

None of the links or searches in this thread work for me. They include results which are only SOME of the criteria, with the one most missing being arguably the most important, "Format: blu-ray". I tried doing an advanced search and got the same results (e.g. right now the second result is for a pressure cooker, third is a book on computer code-writing, and the fourth is a diet book).
Possibly there's been a change in Google where they now ignore your search criteria requirements? If so, I may have to change my default search engine, because this wastes far more time for me than it saves, if it will ignore parts of what I've specifically told it to look for, because I don't enter multiple search parameters for fun. |
