Flew by 2000 over the holidays and the arrival of some boxing day stuff has me a little over 2100 now. Now I just need to figure out a better way to store them..

Closing in on the 1,500 mark with 1,449 currently. That number isn't by title though, so a box set is only counted as one. Going by titles I have definitely joined the 1,500 club. Not sure what criteria others go by in this thread?

Hit 2000 titles a few weeks back.

Still love collecting movies and enjoy having a big library. Blind buying everything I'm even remotely interested in has almost entirely taken over going to the cinema for me though.

Only saw 4 movies in the theater last year: Fury Road, The Martian, Spectre and The Force Awakens.

Same here. I skipped about half a dozen films theatrically and just bought the BD. No hassles, plus it cuts down on spending on individual films. For instance, I surely would've went for the 3D version of EVEREST in theaters but for reasons cited above I decided to just wait. Turns out I didn't enjoy the film nearly as much as I thought I would. I likely would've purchased the Blu-ray in addition to having seen it theatrically. If this means my collection will balloon past the 2000 mark quicker than average, so be it

I'm currently at 1513. 2015 was my least Blu-ray buying year, about 80 titles, so around 7 per month. So far in 2016 I already bought 10 movies. I have feeling 2016 is going to be huge.
The Driver, The Mechanic, The Girl, and GTO.

Hit 1000 with ...

Wow, it sure seems like my collection snowballed at some point. I remember just a few years ago when I first decided to enter my BD collection on this site I was at 268, which blew my mind because just glancing at my shelves I assumed I had about 80 titles at that time. I'm not sure how many DVDs I had acquired but probably no more than 800 total. I grew tired of adding to the database here to enter them all and have since parted much of my DVDs out to my kids and a large chunk were stolen. I may just go back and check my "milestone" posts in the various Club threads to calculate my growth over time for sh!ts and giggles.

Just realized that I surpassed 1,000 blus about a month ago. With the influx around Christmas, I don't even know which was the lucky one to push me into quadruple digits.

Congrats to everyone on this thread. Takes a lot of time and patience (money too) to own 1000+ films.
I'm pushing 2500 and I don't think I'll hit it in 2016. I've slowed down a lot and it looks like it will continue.
But?....2500 here I come
Epson 6010 3D projector
Elite Cinetension electric 120" screen
Samsung UN55C800 55"
Integra 30.7 AVR
9.3.2 Def Tech speakers with SVS PB2000 & PB12 NSD

APC J-10 power conditioner
Other stuff

Same here.
I picked up The Martian and Spectre recently and was surprised to see that my collection had topped 1000. I guess it must have happened just after Christmas.
I calculate that I should be pushing 1,500 by the end of the year and hope to hit 2000 by the end of 2017

And....another milestone come and gone after a couple of orders this week.

#2200. The title seems appropriate. Doomed to buy blu-rays and no turning back.

Reached 1001 today with 4K purchase of Peanuts Movie and The Martian. Of course, I'll be going through my collection this weekend and that will probably take me back out of the 1000 BD club.
