You need the original theatrical DVD to hear the real audio, or the PCM from the LD, now that is the audio we all love, but I also plan on re doing the DTS-HD MA 5.1 track again because I have learned so much with audio I want to go back and fix it better(I hope lol) and fix a few more parts, because I do love the LD PCM, but I love my fixed HD audio version much better, way more powerful

vidjunkie, is there something wrong with the mono track on the Collector's Edition DVD, too? I thought the original non-anamorphic DVD and the Collector's Edition both contained the same DD 2.0 mono mix?

lol I am getting it confused with cuts, I am sure that audio is probably ok, I need to take a listen, but that is the extended cut of the film, if it is ok, which I am sure it is, to bad there is no extended cut on LD, would love to sync that and share for those with the extended cuts, I guess I could sync the Dolby Digital file though just for the sake of another option.

Got my "Barbarian" C.E. DVD today...the good news is that the audio is indeed Dolby Digital 2.0 mono...the bad news is, man, there really was a screw up of sorts on some of those musical cues on the Blu-ray . I haven't watched the entire disc yet, but it would seem in some of those battle sequences, it's almost like an entire layer of audio is missing! Now, I don't want to make a huge fuss about it, because I still feel the film works fine without the loud choral aspects in those sequences, but I will say it certainly does change the mood of the film! To be honest, I'd be shocked to see Universal fix this (at least on a recall/replacement scale), but fans can always hold out hope I guess. I'm glad I repurchased the DVD again, so now I can opt to watch either version when I feel up to it...

Thanks again to all those who caught this audio anomaly, much appreciated ...I thought something felt a little strange when I watched the Blu, turns out it was with good reason ...
