The good part, these ones comes with DTS-MA 5.1 and not the crappy DD5.1 that was given on the regular N.A. releases.

Shoot - didn't/couldn't pull the trigger yesterday, and now the price has increased; not alot, only to 9.97 Euros, but still it's the principle of it

Another The Dark Knight Rises SB, from France and a different look all around. I like it, however this might be G1 which would be a big let down. Im not 100% certain on it though.

Beware of possible forced french subtitles...they're notorious in French releases.

Ya I always delay my order by a few days or until I can get confirmation that nothing of that nature is present by someone in the France forums when they are kind enough to check.

Cheapest you can get Star Trek TNG S1 and S2 together on Amazon.it,

Total cost is 102.62 after all is said and done. The Canadian equivalent would be 45.41 + 13% in a store.

hard to beat. Only thing is that the word Season is not in English. Says, "Stagione" or some such.

http://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B008HYKH8Q/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&smid=A11IL2PNWYJU7H

http://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B009LDXH7U/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A11IL2PNWYJU7H

Remember to buy things together in multiples of 2+ to level off the shipping costs.

I may go for it, but I added The Amazing Spiderman 3D Collectors with the statue. All 3 would make them 39.50 + 13% per, which sounds reasonable to me if I walked into a store.

Anybody ever order from Japan before? I just placed an order for some steelbooks.

Their base shipping of 2600 Yen (about $32 Canadian) is fairly steep, but after that, the incremental addition to shipping for each item was less than $4.

Basically the only way to get steelbooks from Japan, other than knowing somebody there or paying the crazy Ebay prices. In some cases HMV Japan is possible (and their shipping rate is much lower), but in this case, they only had 1 of the 5 I ordered, so it was better to go with Amazon.

We'll see how it turns out. A little worried about the possibility of duty due to the total order coming to nearly $150 Canadian (after shipping) - around $105 pre-shipping.

Got the shipping notices over night - they are shipping by DHL, which probably means I am now going to get hit with an outrageous handling fee and duty

Plus, they separated my order into 2 packages (1 steel sent by itself), so I am probably going to get screwed twice!

Lovely. Happy Monday morning.

Ah, don't be so pessimistic until you know for sure! No sense in worrying yourself over speculation! Think positive and good things happen.

Missed the delivery today, but driver left a note that I owe $14.71 on delivery/pick-up (Edit: this is in relation to my order from Amazon.jp)

Oh, well, not that bad for a $150-ish order, I guess - I was expecting it to be much worse.

Can hardly wait to get those steels!!

Default So, how does this make sense?

As noted above, I ordered 5 steelbooks from Amazon.jp - Blade, Blade II, Seven, Inception and Bladerunner.

All were sent by DHL Express, coming out of Japan, but 1 (Blade II) was sent alone (maybe had to come from a different distribution center?), while the other 4 were sent together.

When they hit Canada, the single item was hit with DHL's $10 customs clearance fee and HST on the fee and the price of the item (total payment of $14.71). The other shipment of 4 steels had no duty/taxes, etc.

And, because DHL has no depot in my city, the 2 packages got subbed out to 2 different couriers??

I am considering ordering some other items from Japan, but since I can't make any sense out of this bizarre series of events, I have no idea whether there is any rhyme or reason to if I will get caught with duty/taxes.

Weird.

But...they are very nice steelbooks.

Default Amazon.de

Q for anyone who has ordered from the .de - have you had any Canadian duty/tax issues?

They have a few steelbooks I would like to order; flat shipping is 9.96 EUR covering the first 2, the incremental amount for each additional book is peanuts. So to benefit on the shipping side, I would like to order 3 or 4 in a single shipment. But, that obviously gives me concern for getting hit with duty/taxes on this end.

Also, does .de ship via post, or do they use a courier (DHL?)?

I've not had any duty problems when ordering from the .uk who use Royal Post, but did get hit with taxes and processing fee when ordering from .jp, who shipped using DHL

It's been awhile since I've ordered from .de, but I have never been charged HST for anything from them.
