Do you have the most recent update? Sharp did post a firmware updated back in February and it seems to have resolved my issue with playback for Avatar.

Hi,
I bought this player about 6 months ago and it has worked good. for the last couple weeks it has been playing blu-ray discs about half the time. It seems to freeze up and distort very badly. Acts like if you have a satellite and it starts to rain and it acts like that freezing and distorted picture. I try and turn the unit off and restart and sometimes it works for awhile. Almost acts like the lens. Anybody else having the same problem?

I had this Bluray player in storage for over a year and at that time I thought it was a buggy player with slow updates.

I decided to pull it out of the box as I always been a fan of its sleek look, I decided to go on Sharps website and see if there's a current update and to find out there was one recently.

I decided to download the update to my thumb-drive (usb) and install the new version. Once I uploaded / updated the new firmware this unit looks to be very stable and throw in the newest blu movies and loads up quickly.
