I never upgraded this movie from the dvd because of the review on the site, but I think i want to watch it on 3D at least once
I thought the same. I actually saw the film in 3D when I was a kid in the 50s. I finally succumbed to the 3D disc and loved it. But I retain the dvd as it's aspect ratio is different. Both are good to have and I believe the 3D is fine. Now I won't watch it any other way.

Why is there no regular version release? this is so overpriced, really frustrating that I can buy the Hitchcock set for $40 with this movie on it yet this costs more then that! but I prefer to have my Blu rays in separate cases unless it's franchised movies boxsets

How does this compare to The Bubble in 3D? I know it doesn't have as many pop out moments, but figured since the price is so low now, I'd pick this up. Just wanna know before I commit.
Blu-ray wishlist (in no particular order): Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, Dead Man on Campus, Pump Up the Volume, Dragnet & Doctor Detroit.

Proper blu-ray wishlist: The Warriors, Dawn of the Dead ('78), Young Guns, Dick Tracy & Once Bitten.

It's strong 3-D, typical of most 1950's titles. There are a few "pop-out" moments such as when a hand grabs for a pair of scissors, but nothing close to what The Bubble does.

It's an old-fashioned "who-done-it" murder mystery in 3-D directed by Hitchcock. If that interests you, then go ahead and buy it.

Watching the 70 by 130 inch 3D image from my Panasonic AE8000 projector, I felt like I was in the living room with them.

Nothing will ever surpass The Bubble as far as crazy impressive pop-outs go. But what Dial M does well with the format is bring you into their world. It's an adaptation of a play, so it's rather static. Just characters interacting on a set. but because it's REAL 3D, everything looks completely real as far as the sense of depth in the set, and you almost feel like you're in the movie with them.

It also helps that the movie itself is pretty fantastic, 3D or not.

$12.99 currently on Amazon. Nice -- this is one of titles that has seemed to stay stubbornly expensive.

I'm so glad I don't have to buy the UK triple feature set to get this movie now. Didn't even hesitate for this at $12.99. Now I just need Strangers on a Train. $13.89 is ok, but I feel I can wait to see if that one goes cheaper.

Had a $5 Reward Zone certificate and decided to do an In Store Pickup from my local Best Buy (their website said it was available). I put in my order, and then got an email about ten minutes later saying it wasn't available, and now my store isn't on the list of available stores in my area. Could someone have really beaten me to it that fast?

Had the same experience on a different title but still found it "in stock" at my local Bestbuy. Went to customer service with a copy of my original online order and they honored the price.

Default Mine arrived a few days ago

Watched it last night. Totally enjoyed it.

I'm spending way more at BB these days they really are driving the 3D prices down to where they need to be for the format to survive.

$30 is a category killer.

$15 is great

$12.99 is a sweet spot.

I picked this up at BB as well and quite enjoyed it. The restoration team did an excellent job getting things aligned properly so there are no glaring misalignment issues like in a lot of older 3D movies.

It was kind of jarring to see how, in a few shots, the interaxial distance was adjusted on the fly in mid-scene. It's not a smooth adjustment; it tends to "snap" fairly quickly from one setting to the other. There's also one very long shot that is in 2D and several awkward shots of people standing in front of projected flat backgrounds, but overall, the 3D was quite good.

Great price currently for a great Hitchcock restoration. Other than the shots that are flat due to hitchcocks love for rear projection, the 3D is used very well.

In which shots are the interaxial distance was adjusted on the fly in mid-scene? Use the time lapse function on your remote so that we can all go to that exact spot and see the same thing. Many thanks.
