Big Boss blu-ray with a small hole:

Fist of Fury dvd with some printing missing:

Way of the Dragon blu-ray with a small hole:

Game of Death blu-ray with a large hole:

Also the Bruce Lee: The Legend/The Man, The Legend disc has a lot of scratches, so much that my PS3 only played it once and now it doesn't play. It will only play on my dvd player.

The discs with the holes seem to play fine. I wonder if it's only the artwork layer that's missing, and not the data layer.

Is anyone else discs like this?

No. Mine do not look like that all.

Possibly just holes in the disc art?

He said the hole goes right through the disc.

I've seen that once on a CD (on one of my most played CD's back in the day) - and it basically made the disc unplayable. Though about half of the tracks were unaffected, several of them were loaded with skips or would just outright stop playing.

I would guess a hole like that would have a similarly catastrophic effect on a blu-ray - I don't see how it wouldn't. It might play fine for a portion of the film, but then when you need to read data from that area of the disc it's probably going to just freeze your player or skip over huge section of the movie.

He said you can see right through which can be possible if the art side was totally worn away.
If it was an actual hole through the disc, I don't think it would even load, and definitely not playable.

Looks like print has come off rather than an actual hole in the disc.

I just returned this set and bought another one that's in much better condition. Used their Amazon Prime free trial to get 1-day shipping, and they've lowered the price since I bought the first set.

I think it was just the art printing that had come off and not a hole in the data layer.

Amazing that even after two recalled sets, Shout! Factory still has quality control issues.

"The Big Boss" looks great, almost like a 4k scan.

Has anyone else's set had the book portion come loose? I am thinking of getting some epoxy and gluing it back in.

I noticed the same thing happened to mine earlier this year.

Wound up selling it to a local game store...

Just a question, bought this when it first came out and requested and got the replacement discs. I read somewhere the other day that one(?) of the replacement discs had something wrong as well!!!! Can anyone share some insight on what that could be or if that was a rumor. This set has some problems but sure thought all was taken care of with the replacement discs!!!!

Oooh, on sale for 60 bucks!

So the Big Money question - do I grab this or do I pick up the new, upcoming white cover editions.

I would like to know which to pick up as well. I'm confused with all the mention of 'teal tint' and all this color talk. Which is the superior version? The corrected legacy collection or these new 4K remasters?

From the caps-a-holic it looks like the contrast is cranked up high on the 4k remasters, as well as grain removal. I generally don't like this, but I'm not sure how accurate that is?

I already have the US Premiere Collection, as well as Enter the Dragon German blu. But I was assuming this new corrected Legacy collection is better? I'm mainly interested in the quality of transfers, unless this Legacy collection has a wealth of extras that I must watch.

the Legacy collection are the same transfers as the Premiere set you've got.

The new transfers are nice (details) but contrast is way too milky and colors are greenish or pale. Not good.
