I know, I was just being cheeky since this was the TDK thread.

Every one if those panels except for the first one (which is meant to highlight Bats, hence the fact that he's in full-color and ML is a shadow) uses some kind of visual means of illustrating ML's larger size.

Again, nobody who understands visual storytelling can deny that the character is meant to be significantly larger than Bats.

I guess you didn't see Dark Knight Rises. Bruce was skinny and you could cut yourself on his cheekbones.

Snyder can't be blamed that his Batman is bigger than Nolan's Bane. He shouldn't have to scale down his Batman just because Nolan tried to pass off a slightly muscular overfed 5' 9" Tom Hardy as Bane. What Nolan put on screen was Bane in name only.

I must disagree. He didn't look "emaciated " or "anemic" to me, he looked lithe and fit - and strong as hell as Batman.

I thought that Hardy looked the part, personally. You couldn't tell he was 5,9 and his posterior chain muscles looked fully developed. You have to remember that Nolan's films are somewhat grounded in reality. If Bane was portrayed to be the 20 stone plus hulk that the comics make out, then, in reality, he'd have speed and stamina issues. He wouldn't have the functional mass to take out Batman the way he did.

Bale look alright for the role, too. Certainly better than he did in Batman Begins where it looked clear he had a bulked up within a few weeks as opposed to putting on lean and healthy mass over the course of several months.

+ 1!

I know many had an issue with it but I actually really dug the dialect Hardy used with Bane. It's fun to mimic at a party when you've had too much to drink!

This is not healthy looking at all.

But I can forgive these parts because in the first two he had been locked inside and not taking care of himself. The last one he had been in prison for months.

The only time he ever looks fit and healthy in TDKR is in this scene:

The rest of the movie tho he swings from malnourished and depressed to the look of a recovering alcoholic.

Yes, I wasn't referring to the "broken back" period (an injury, by the way, which you don't simply "will" your way back from - certainly not in such short order).

So what are the chances of there being a reprint for this with DVD and UV with a slipcover like for Begins in May? I've tried to find any word on this but no luck.

ArcLight Hollywood is screening this in 35mm at the Dome next week. I'm eager to see a print of this, considering the Blu-ray is so polarizing. I'm not very impressed by the BD and still think it needs some serious love from WB soon.

Every time I see a thread bump on this, I hope that there will be news of WB issuing some new editions with better presentations for this trilogy. Come on, Warner!
