It was so long since I had seen this, my brain must have intertwined it with another movie. What movie was it where if you were just about to die during the plague (or whatever it was), you were alive???

That sounds like The Quiet Earth. I wish that was on Blu-ray.

I'll throw in a vote for Miracle Mile....have the old DVD and would love an upgrade. Definitely a more "serious" film than Night Of The Comet but still has some of the same vibe going for it.

Have you seen Night of the Creeps? It's actually a much better movie, but it has the 80s b-movie zombie comedy vibe also.

Yes! Bring on Miracle Mile. The DVD needs a Blu-ray upgrade bad. This is one title that I want Twilight Time to get just so I can get the isolated score by Tangerine Dream.

I've seen Night of the Creeps. I enjoyed it, thought it was a fun movie.

Any other suggestions? (preferably on blu)

I remember seeing parts of NOTC on broadcast TV back in the day. Couldn't really appreciate the film then, but I did re-watch it years later on DVD and felt it was amazing. This is an amazing post-apocalyptic film that seems to be almost forgotten these days. As has been said, it has elements from Day of the Triffids & other older sci-fi films, while still being completely original. As a child of the '80's, this is a real nostalgic blast from the past - the scene when the two sisters go "shopping" in the abandoned mall while dancing to Cyndi Lauper's "Girls just wanna have fun" was great. Looking forward to seeing the Blu-ray.

Also cool to see two of the cast from another '80's cult flick, Eating Raoul...

Re: This Quiet Earth, great post-apocalyptic '80's film as well. Hope this hits Blu-ray at some point, especially since, IIRC, the regular DVD is long OOP...

I've got the German release. Quite bad quality, but beats my previous DVD anyhow.

I've seen that too.

I'm mostly looking for movies with the same style/tone as NOTC.

I received Night of the Comet in the mail yesterday, I revisited the movie this afternoon, and I'm now enjoying the extras.

This is a seriously awesome Blu-ray package. I mean, Night of the Comet is not exactly Citizen Kane, but it is a fun slice of the 1980s, and I really appreciate the loving attention that Scream Factory has given to the movie. I wish that more top-tier movies would receive the same attention that this B-movie is given here.

I was chuckling throughout the movie simply because of the sheer force of the 1980s vibe, but I was also surprised at how much of the movie I remembered by heart, despite only having seen it one time at a friend's house when it was first released on home video.

Anyone order this from Amazon recently? Did it come with a slipcover?

Thanks!
