Default 3D in 2D?

If you put the 3D-Blu-ray in a 2D-Blu-ray Player (let's say Sony PS3), is it possible to play the 3D remastered version in 2D?

I think this is a YMMV situation based upon your player and display. But generally speaking, I think the answer is "no."

Although I have been able to play 3D discs in 2D (even on a non-3D display) by turning off 3D in the player and/or display, I've surmised that this is due to the fact that the player is 3D-capable in the first place. There's of course no way to turn off 3D functionality in a non-3D BD player so I've been told elsewhere in another thread on the site that you can't play 3D BDs in 2D on a non-3D BD player, but I have no way of testing that since both of my BD players are 3D-capable.

Hi
I have a standalone bd player (You find it in my profile)
It is a non 3d player
I have a Men in Black 3 3D Blu-ray version
In the box are 2 discs - one with 3D version of the movie and second with 2d version of the movie
I can play both in 2 D

That's quite common to Sony 3D releases. Even though they usually released a 2D standalone the 3D discs were 2D playable anyway. It's the 'locked' releases like Top Gun and Jurassic Park which won't play on anything other than a complete 3D display chain, and you can only get to the 2D left eye version by turning off 3D on the display or player during playback. I wouldn't recommend it with Jurassic Park though, as the 3D version is dreadful in 2D.
