We know the first one was still being worked on so contractors and other non empire people were on it, and the second one was still under main construction so it was full of slaves and workers. The death toll had to be in the millions given the size of the stations.
Exactly, the first time constructing the Death Star, the majority of the time could have been spent developing and/or perfecting the technology required for the Death Star's weaponry. Once the Empire had that down, it was probably smooth sailing from there.

Similar to henry fords production line. Once you know what you need and what works and doesnt work it will cut production time way down.

I've watched it both ways, in date order and I - IV order.

Last time my 3 kids and I did it just 2 months ago in I - IV order, so I'm recently liking that order more.

btw, I've never watched the bonus disc that came with Star Wars IV-VI DVD collection, watched partly last time with the kids, and was confused at the Star Wars III: Return of Darth Vader thing. Guess George Lucas changed the name to Revenge of Sith at last minute, after these discs made.....

That was before the title was announced. The Return of Darth Vader is just a tag line
