The film was alright. I mean it's cool it was filmed a few miles away from me, I'm not very won over by Wes. Let's not get on that subject, though .

I still think The Royal Tenenbaums is his best work.

Thumbs up

I have finally seen this film, and liked it very much.

It is my favorite after Rushmore, which is just outstanding.

I loved the love story, the nature, and the music.

I am very happy with this blind-buy.

My rating:

Film 4/5

PQ: 3,5-4/5 (Don't like the sickly yellowish tone, nor do I care for all the grain/noise), but I didn't detect any significant compression-related artifacts.

AQ: 4,5/5

I concur. I watched it and I liked it but it's not something I think I'd ever have the urge to watch again.

The Canadian version is more or less the same transfer. Whether or not you get a slip is up in the air. I was lucky enough to find one with a slip back in summer 2013, but for a movie released so long ago, don't get your hopes up.
In love with Bu-rays.

Safe to say that there is no way of getting a slip? Pretty upset about it.

Yeah I wish more indie filmmakers would shoot this instead of digital, but I guess it just costs too much. I guess that's why I have so much trouble watching today's low budget films, they're like watching soap operas.

This dropped to $9.99 today on Amazon.

It's the only Wes Anderson movie I like.
Every Blu-ray should have a Play-All option for special features and every player should have 1.5x playback.
Every Blu-ray should come in a Viva Elite case with thick stock artwork and a slipcover. Each disc should have its own hub.
Dark HDR titles exist: Compare Star Trek Beyond 4K to the BD or any other Trek UHD. 10-15% are dark.

==>> Dreamliner330ís Blu-ray and 2D, 3D, 4K UHD slipcover sale extravaganza! Accepting offers!!

Default Ultra Violet

Just picked this up for 9.99 at Costco.
At universaldigitalcopy.com the code is declared to be out of date, even though the coupon says 'subject to expiration after 4/30/17'.

Anyone else?

"Shoebox diarama" is such a perfect description for his films.

They feel like they were made by a person, rather than being a soulless studio product.

Anyone order the Blu + Digital HD version? Just curious if a slipcover does exist for it.
