Nor have we got the long-rumored Director's Cut of House of 1000 Corpses. Rob doesn't talk as much as Tarantino, but he lies just as much about alternate cuts and projects that don't really exist.

But.... but.... they do exist. They do.

Rob Zombie was willing to release the DC of House of 1000 Corpses, but the studio wasn't interested in it. Maybe they thought there would be no profit in it. So they never gave their "okay". And without that, Rob can't do his DC because he does not own the rights. The studio does. And now after more than 10 years, Rob believes that the film has found its fans and core base, and they love this version of the film. It has become a cult movie for sure. And the people who love this film, love it for being THIS film and not some other version. He would have released a DC back in the day. Maybe even 5 years and ago, but the studio didn't give a sh!t and now, Rob does not either. It would be pointless and ridiculous to release an alternate version that late. That is what he said not too long ago.

It was basically supposed to be more special features as well as a making of documentary.

You can buy it here:

...for under 10 bucks so I don't think so. But I'm not an expert, what do I know?

No. The slip cover was plentiful on initial release. I have one. Subsequently released in steelbook it's unclear which format would ultimately hold the most "value," if any.

I mean rare now, to find in the store. This movie is $12.99 at BB and it has the slip so I'm wondering if it's worth picking up.

There was a batch that came without slips to Best Buy here months ago, but now all copies have slips again. BB is the only store I've seen without a slip (besides a used store or 2) yet, so I'd say they are not rare or hard to find at all. It's weird though, some other titles that haven't had slips for years now do (Grindhouse stands out), so there's no way of knowing what slips will or won't re-appear.

Rob keeps changing his story. For years he said that the footage was 'lost'.

Blind-bought this at Target in a steelbook the other day because I really liked the Halloween Zombie movies. Ended up liking this a lot too. There's just something about Zombie's style and aesthetic that does it for me, I find it all riveting even when the story isn't there. Gotta love how unabashedly 70's he is, even down to the dark endings.

I'm suddenly a lot more sad my wife will get old though.
