Has anyone bought the French version?
Is 1080p but without English subtitles for the rest it looks pretty good (45 blu rays compared to Spanish and US version which has almost the half..).

Is it worth it 200 EUR (amazon.fr now) or shall I wait for the UK edition dream..?,
thx

Does anyone have the blu rays of any of the Peter Ustinov Poirot films ( Death on the Nile, Evil Under the Sun) or Murder on the Orient Express with Albert Finney ?

I know that the blu rays exist but they are all imports. The only review I saw was a Studio Canal set with all three but the reviews were pretty bad. But there are solo releases out there but cant find reviews !

I remember when Emily Blunt was in this, giving the worst American accent I've ever heard.

I'm a little confused on what is included in each set.

So just to confirm the complete series includes everything found in the individual releases plus the early case collection and final case collection?

And the movies are not included in the complete series right?
My Top 5 Movies of All Time:
1. Forrest Gump
2. Back to the Future Part 1 & Back to the Future Part 2
3. Braveheart
4. Halloween (1978)

The Complete Series includes all of the Poirot episodes which were produced. You are correct. It includes everything found in the individual series collections and the Early Later Cases sets which are comprised of the individual releases.

The movies (longer run time episodes) are included in this as well. It truly is the "Complete" set for Agatha Christie's Poirot with David Suchet as Poirot!

Thanks. One more question. On this database it says that the complete collection has 28 discs while the early and final case sets have 13 discs each and the movie collection has 3 discs (total 29 discs). Is the database wrong or is the complete collection missing a disc?

The so-called "movie collection" does not count. It is included in Poirot: Series 12; see the review of that series.

The complete collection includes additional material, not previously included with any series release. However, according to my information, those additional 2 discs are DVDs. I have updated the entry accordingly.

I'm always interested how us Brits sound when doing an American accent. Was she really that bad?

I've heard some shocking British accents done by American actors too. However, there are two excellent class-specific English accents by non-British performers in Poirot - Pennie Downie in "Taken at the Flood" and Jessica Chastain in "Murder on the Orient Express". Really faultless.

Just FYI, Amazon has a deal on the Complete Cases set starting tonight at 11:59 PM PST. No idea yet what the price will be.

EDIT: Looks like the price is $122.99.

I purchased the Poirot: The Complete Cases Collection blu-ray at Amazon.com for $122.29. It's the biggest discount - at 69% - from the suggested retail price ($399.99) so far.

The biggest discount yet from Amazon, but it has been cheaper elsewhere.

I bought the USA blu-ray on a sale at Amazon.

Picture Quality for S1-6 was great...

...but then I started watching S7 & S8 = and the picture quality was bloody dreadful. It looks like they used an SD Digibeta master

It really pissed me off.

Does anyone know if the French blu-ray versions of S7 & S8 suffered the same fate?
