It's currently $7.88 at Amazon.

Yep. I just placed an order along with Game of Thrones S3. I've been wanting to add it to my collection, but I knew it would drop quite a bit in price being that it's a Lionsgate title.

Why is this the only one in the trilogy without an unrated version?

Because unlike EX 1 and EX 3, EX 2 is fine the way it is.

Have the filmmakers addresed why this movie was seemingly made to look so "junky" looking, as I think the LA Times accurately put it? This sequel could have come off so much better if it wasn't for all those borderline out of focus shots. Watch the scene when Barney tells Maggie why he doesn't like to get close to people. A quiet scene that could have been quite good but the close up shot of Sly looks like a VHS recording from cable that had been watched a hundred times before.

I was bouncing around the Simon West commentary for some insight and he actually calls Liam Hemsworth Liam Neeson at the end of the film when Liam's girlfriend receives the letter and money.

I think the look of the movie was meant to convey the '80s style of the film with some OK success. Personally I thought the first film had the best visual shine to the picture.

I thought about that but 80's movies never looked as bad as some of the shots in this.

I guess that all depends on the quality of the film stock to begin, the cheaper the film the less pristine the image can look. Or how well the film was stored and preserved. Who knows, maybe the producers thought some muddy shots would make the actors look younger.

I think that may actually be the reason, but it really made the movie look ugly and cheap.
