Default Any heavyweight built tough blu-ray players???

I'm sick of seeing these cheap made in China featherweight plastic blu-ray players that feel like if you touch them wrong they will break. Any out there that are actually made like the good old days? I have a old Sony Dvp-S7700 DVD player that is built literally like a tank. Anything similar? Just curious

If George S. Patton was still alive today, he'd own an Oppo.

The BDP-105 has seperate outs for each channel. Does that mean no reciever is needed? Just an amp on each channel? Or would that be lossy?

see Connecting BDP-105EU directly to a power amp or active speakers. You can, just careful with volume settings after a FW update that bumps the digital volume to 100 from its normal initial 45 to 50 setting. The player offers 32 bit volume control BTW.

Any Oppo. The current BDP-103 weighs 10.8 pounds. That's probably about as heavy as you can get nowdays.

I whole heartedly second this recommendation.

Oppo is built like a brick $h!t house.

I buy all my gear with home defense in mind. If it can't crush someone's soul, I don't want it in my house.

Mine is 52lbs of metal, this is the lightweight version, still fully balanced analog pathway, the UD9004 cousin adds copper chassis/feet, honestly i only use it for SACD. Bad news they are behind in Cinavia and will not play many discs, but the PS3 addition solved that problem for me.

Both players made in the Land of the Rising Sun, cannot mention names or the labor camp products we wear on our bodies will cause us rashes.

Video: PS3+A1UDCI> Mitsubishi HC9000> Carada Brilliant White 110". Audio: PR-SC5509 > 2xSherbourn 5/1500As> Paradigm Sig. S8 v.2, C5, ADPs,S2s// Interconns AQ King Cobra player:RCA 7.1+Stereo, processor: XLR9.1(biwired fronts)// Cables Belden 10AWG with silver soldered gold spades/bananas

^ Specification say 42.3 Lbs. Yes its big and heavy but not listed as a current product on Marantz's web site, no longer sold.

The Marantz UD7007 is however available weighing 15.87 Lbs. For comparisons the BDP-105 is 17.3 lbs
