Not one trip to the theater for me since the release of Avatar. I am so, so sick of people in theaters...i have decided to just stay away, and wait for the Blu. This doesn't mean i don't miss it, but i fear after all the sh*t i had to sit through to be able to watch Avatar (after paying 3 times)...i don't have enough patience left to refrain from freaking out at said people.

Having said that, I went and saw Les Miserables at a regular theater last week, and I forgot how much they annoy me. The people in front of me kept getting up and going to the bathroom. Also, yes it's a sad movie... but why do people have to audibly cry? The woman 2 rows behind me was just bawling. Just grab a tissue and wipe your eyes, but you don't need to make suer the whole audience knows you're crying your eyes out.

made it to 52 screenings. saw avengers twice, and i declare war 3 times (once at cast/crew screening and twice at tiff, including the premiere). mostly saw new films, but also checked out a bunch of retro screenings, some were even 35mm prints. had seen 49 in late december and kind of made it a goal to see 52, seeing the last 3 movies on my list on the 29th, 30th, and 31st.
final list: The Devil Inside Haywire The Woman in Black Silent House The Hunger Games Goon Wrath of the Titans 3D American Reunion The Cabin in the Woods Lockout I Declare War The Avengers 3D The Avengers 3D Battleship Chernobyl Diaries Men in Black 3 Piranha 3DD Prometheus 3D Ted The Amazing Spider-Man 3D Jaws The Watch Savages The Dark Knight Rises Total Recall The Expendables 2 Paranorman 3D The Possession No One Lives I Declare War Hellbenders 3D The Bay The Lords of Salem I Declare War Aftershock Dredd 3D End of Watch Looper Pitch Perfect Argo Seven Psychopaths Sinister Paranormal Activity 4 Silver Linings Playbook Wreck-It Ralph Monsters Inc. 3D Silent Night, Deadly Night Black Christmas Jack Reacher Friday the 13th Django Unchained E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial Best experiences were Silver Linings Playbook, Seven Psychopaths, ET, Jaws, Silent Night, Deadly Night, Avengers, Piranha 3DD (beers!), and Dark Knight Rises. Worst experiences were Battleship (terrible terrible movie) and Friday the 13th (35mm print, which was awesome, but two douchey guys wouldn't shut up for the last 20 minutes of the movie and really soured the screening for me). |

The Expendables 2
Total Recall Dark Knight Rises The Avengers Five Year Engagement TED Skyfall 21 Jump Street Argo Raiders of The Lost Ark IMAX End of Watch Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter And that's probably the lowest amount of movies I've ever seen in a year. Wasn't that great of a year for movies in my opinion. There's a handful I wish I saw in the theater and obviously a few I'm going to see still like the hobbit, but not too many more.
