Sometimes, just sometimes you don't need to play a game to see what it is. There is no push for this game by Activision. The only tv spots I've seen for it is during The Walking Dead. There has been no coverage in video game mags or on sites. This game is a simple cash grab. The game will suck and Activision is hoping people won't pay attention to the game itself and that the name alone sells the product. They are looking for suckers to buy the game to be blunt.

yeah but that game was a completely different animal. There's a world of difference between how a first person shooter should look, and how a Telltale game should look.

I LOVED Back to the Future from Telltale. but those games are not comparable to this.

This is the equivalent of a movie getting dumped on Friday with no advance screeners for reviewers, hoping a ton of people jump on it the 1st weekend before all the reviews get out there.

It shows a lack of faith on the part of Activision

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct videogame isn’t due out until March 19, but we already have the first review of the game. How is that? Well, it comes courtesy of Norman Reedus’ son. In an interview with The Walker Stalkers, Norman Reedus revealed that he got an early copy of the game, which he previously verified by posting a photo to Instagram.

Norman Reedus has a thirteen year old son named Mingus, who became the lucky recipient of the game. Here’s how Reedus described what his son thought of the game.

Norman Reedus said, “We got the first copy of The Walking Dead Survival Instinct video game, and so he was the first civilian to play the game. And the game, it’s insane. He’s good at games to. The game’s hard, and it’s really scary actually for a video game. He was playing it, and he was like ‘Turn on the lights!’”

Reedus added, “It’s an intense game. It’s really good. But he was you know playing that, and it was kind of fun watching him play me, and you know hear my voice like ‘Get down! Merle, Merle, where are you?’ It was pretty intense.”

Ok, since Norman Reedus’ character Daryl Dixon is actually featured in the game, Reedus and his son might be somewhat biased. But it’s definitely an encouraging sign that his son is into video games and really liked it.

My friend picked it up today and I'll be picking it up tomorrow. I only watched him play about 30 minutes but it actually looked better than I thought it would be. Graphics are pretty bad and he said the frame rate can get choppy but the gameplay is fairly unique. I got to witness two times when he got betrayed by other survivors because he trusted them and they weren't trustworthy yet. Once he brought some dude along and the guy ran and left him when **** hit the fan and the other time he sent a dude by himself to scavenge for supplies and the guy ran off and left him stealing the weapons he had so my friend lost a nice gun and precious bullets. It seems like there could be some interesting twists along the way.
And my friend said that frame rates getting choppy were only when there were a ton of zombies on the screen. I didn't see it get too bad while I watched myself.

I like the stuff about not knowing who you can trust, and whatnot. That seems like a fairly unique addition to a game. The graphics/framerate though is going to overwhelm any positive thing about this, I'm afraid.
