I just picked up the Prophecy/Prophecy II 2-pack and I'm excited to watch this collection. The only good films of the series are the first 3 films. I believe it was my first introduction to Christopher Walken. He really is an exceptional actor ... and he's actually hilarious when handed the right script.

He actually looks like he's having fun in these films. Much like Samuel Jackson in The Spirit.

Of course Echo Bridge goes out and finally announces the complete series on one disc, but going off the results of the 4-pack, five movies on a single disc is going to look dreadful.
And Prophecy 3 still isn't fixed im sure so the only way to get it is the 4 pack.

I wouldn't be surprised if this five film set is the double feature disc of the first two films and then the quadruple feature disc.

The new set comprises of the 4 pack with parts 1, 3, 4, & 5 and a stand alone disc with part 2.

I got the 5 disc set. Word up... wait for the single release for each movie. You're in for a huge disappointment if you buy this with multiple movies on one disc... the quality totally sucks.

Sometimes, I wonder why in the heck I don't listen to others. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I gotta be a know-it-all and buy the crappy blu just to satisfy my curiosity.

Kicking myself in the butt over this one.

Blu-ray Player/s: Sony BDP-S780, BDP-S770 and BDP-S1
PS3: PlayStation 3 Console 60GB Hard Drive
Audio1 : Pioneer SC-57 (9.2)
Speakers: BOSE Acoustimass 16 Series II
Audio 2: BOSE 3•2•1 Series II DVD Home Entertainment System (which is in the whoopy factor room)
Video 1: Sony BRAVIA XBR55HX929 55-Inch 1080p 3D LCD HDTV
Video 2: Samsung LN52B630 52” 1080p LCD HDTV

The prices are always so cheap that it gets very tempting to buy the Echo Bridge releases, even with repeated warnings.

Judging from their solo release of the first movie, it's doubtful that individual releases of the sequels will look any better.

It's a shame. The first film definitely deserves better.

I agree. These were all good, but then the vendors want to take it and screw it up by not cleaning up the quality and then burning it to blu ray.

I ordered the Spanish release as the caps-a-holic comparisons to the Echo Bridge release were quite a bit better (though still using the same weak master).

Those screen captures look practically identical to me, likely equivalent video encodes of the same dated HD-broadcast master.

Well I did say they are from the same master, but the Spanish release is a good amount sharper and clearer.

I piked this up today at Walmart for $5 and the transfer for the first film is not the greatest but not the worst that I have seen for catalog titles on Blu-ray. I was shocked to see that this has a DTS-HD 5.1 mix considering the back of the case its listed as if it is a lossy mix. I figure that it is EB doing these releases and for $5 this is a better overall package than owning the DVD's which aren't anamorphic and the audio mix is lossy. Maybe one day EB will get their act together.

If there is anyone out there who would like to do a file size and bitrate comparison between these various disks I would be fascinated to hear the details

The BDInfo scan for the solo release is posted in that caps-a-holic link above. The older four-pack, missing the first sequel, had all four movies on a single BD-50. Compression was a mess on it, as expected.

Yes, thanks, I checked the cap-a-holics data.

I actually have the 4 film disk.

On the 4 film disk prophecy#1 is 12gb
