I just saw this for the first time on HBO. Although I don't know if it's something I'd want to own on BD, it was a much better movie than I thought it would be. Argo had a host great performances and a constructive tension which I found totally lacking in Zero Dark Thirty, for example.

The trailers I saw in the theater didn't really entice me. (I honestly found them a little confusing as to what it was even about.) But I really enjoyed Affleck's work on The Town, so I rented this recently and have to say I thought it was fantastic. Unlike a lot of films that try the same thing, I felt it really nailed the whole "throwback movie" feel it was going for without being obvious about it. I almost squealed with excitement at seeing the old WB logo at the start.

Affleck's first movie, Gone Baby Gone, was a little too dark and grim for my tastes. But with The Town and then this, I think he's got a great future ahead of him as a director, and I will be eagerly looking forward to his next project. (At the same time, I'm definitely on "Team Affleck" in thinking he'll make a great Batman.)

This movie sucks… Can no one admit it??? I am a fan of Affleck's first two films, but i felt zero connection with Argo.

Did not think it sucked at all ... Just not nearly as great as the hype.

It's a very solid film but the plot was too politically driven for my taste. It's definitely not as good as The Town, IMHO. Which gets a 4/4 from me. I will continue to look forward to everyone of Ben's films.
Most films that I find good I don't want to experience again.

It didn't suck, but it wasn't the kinda thing one needs to own. I saw it once on HBO or whatever and was surprised that, knowing the ending, it held my attention. But I wouldn't buy it or want to see it again.

I thought "Argo" was a very well made film, and I have little complaints about it. Affleck is 3 for 3 in my opinion. If anything in a bizarre way it seems that all of the attention it got from the Academy has now deemed it overrated a bit, of course I don't share this sentiment though.

+1
Felt it was a little lacking even upon initial release in theaters. I've seen it once in the theater and once on HBO and have no desire to own it.

Does anyone know the specific reason why Amazon delisted this from their website? I bought it from amazon on black friday. I'm just wondering if there's something wrong with it.

Didn't "suck" at all, I thought it was a good movie. Great movie? eh..probably not. Not much replay value for me. But it definitely didn't suck.

That's the problem vis-à-vis owning the BD. Definitely didn't suck, but almost no replay value.

Yup it's one of those surprisingly good movies that you enjoy once but then really feel no need to ever watch again, makes me wish selling it off were easier.
