Are Amazon Used Plasmas worth it? - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone had any experience with buying Amazon Warehouse Deals? I'm breaking my head in deciding on a Samsung Plasma from Amazon in "Used - Good" condition.

I have zero experience buying from Amz Warehouse but would not purchase a used tv from anyone except maybe a friend, where you know the set and where it's coming from. Also anything except Used - like new would be out.

I would never buy a used TV. Period. I don't care how good of a review it gets or that it is in good condition. You always risk running into problems. I would rather buy new and then buy the extended warranty in case anything happens to it.

Depends on the exact description of the condition. Used in this case doesn't necessarily mean "used" in the traditional sense. Think of it as an open box item. These items are usually items another customer purchased and then returned during Amazon's return period. However, since the box was opened Amazon can't sell the item as new; worst case it was used for 3-4 weeks. In some cases the item may have minor cosmetic flaws and/or scratches or it may have significant damage to the housing. Check the description (each is usually unique) for the exact description of the item you're looking at.

Well, of course I would rather buy new with the extended warranty, but the reason I would buy used is money-wise.
