How is the UK version of the set packaged ? From the pictures I've seen, the case is a digipack with the discs overlapping. The american set seems to be the discs slid into cardboard sleeves. Is the american set the same as the UK set ? Does it have the same extras ?

UK set is missing Halberman commentary on Dracula, all other extras are the same.

The UK set is the better set in terms of disc care.

The Laemmles lost control of the studio in April of 1936 and there wasn't a lot of quality after that.
Except that's exactly what happened with the DVDs. A box set containing the exact same titles as the current BD set, then some single releases followed by some double feature sequel discs (not all of them), then finally the Legacy collections that had everything. This took several years, but that's how they did it. Granted, the Legacy versions contained some new transfers and bonus materials, but still. Let's not forget the Anniversary editions of Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, and The Mummy that came AFTER the Legacy editions that had some new features and transfers.

Let's hope these things take a simpler path on BD.

Hard to think there won't be something released by Universal this coming Halloween, maybe not a box. How about a two disc Frankenstein set, with: The Son Of Frankenstein, The Ghost Of Frankenstein, Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman & The House Of Frankenstein. I think that would be a good seller, & then more the next Halloween.

They should just release a second box set with all the secondary films and sequels.

At least, that's what i hope they'll do.

I'd go for that

Well that's my hope too, the perfect release, but life is rarely that good!

I hope they do that rather then another big box like they did last year. I will never buy another box set where the discs are kept in cardboard ever again.
