You should really rip them as FLAC. Lossless audio compression, and the resulting files are about 50-60% of their original size.

The trick is you need to get 4K displays in consumer homes at affordable prices so a 4K bluray form at can take off.

Every 4k TV from Sony will come with the media server pre loaded with content.

Those that bought the one released last year will be getting their servers personally updated in person next month.

In the summer Sony will launch an online 4k distribution service in the US so you can download new content directly.

That sounds so cool I wish I was rich to enjoy this but then again their is so much that the human eye can perceive anyway.

I know right :/

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that Sony 4k OLED

OLED looks stunning. 4k looks stunning. My brain can't even imagine what both together would look like

I thought about all of the formats, and I chose AIF because it is widely supported, I want to be able to import my music in any other program, I want the metadata support that WAV doesn't offer (I can attach my artwork to the files), and retain the quality. I also like the way iTunes organizes the files.

No it bugs me when I say I want to have BOTH (downloads AND discs) and there are still people who read that to mean that I want to take away discs. Learn to read! That's what freaking bugs me! Somehow I suspect I am still not being clear enough for some!

I get what you "want" but why should anyone else care. Like I said and you left out of the quote "Like I said before if someone does not buy movies then it is not a big issue" but http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread....79#post6968679

Quote:
In an interview after the keynote it was stated the average film in 4k is around 120gb
that is a HUMOUNGOUS issue with most ISP plans (if you want to DL from the internet- for example AT&T u-verse biggest residential plan comes with 250GB a month cap, so that would most likely mean someone will most likely not be able to watch 2 average films a month before hitting the cap and after that it is 10$/50GB extra so an extra film could come with a 30$-40$ internet surcharge) and internet or disk that would mean that a 1TB drive won't even fit 10 average films which means that anyone that collects films would need many PB of storage which is not realistically feasible today.

Now if you hate that people point out the obvious because you would rather live in the "I want" world while not paying attention to the repercussions of the "want" then so be it but if you do people like myself will point out why it is insane for anyone else to want it.

I don't remember asking if you cared.
