thanks.
The Sony 4k remastered line of blurays have a slightly higher bitrate and expanded color space on equipment that supports the xvYCC color space.

Vinegar Syndrome's Graduation Day is currently being restored and transfered in 4K for a Halloween release. (I provided a link a while back, but now they've actually begun the prep for the blu-ray).

The Vinegar Syndrome A Clockwork Blue blu-ray is using a 4K transfer as well (double feature with 2K tranfered Jekyll and Hyde Portfolio). Details here. It's being released next month (and presently is already sold out, as it was Limited to only 1000 Units).

Vinegar Syndrome are among the best in the business for their picture quality, and they work closely with their sister restoration/transfer company, Process Blue.

Here comes another stupid question...
Since these 4k remaster lines are on regular BDs, do they sacrifice content like supplements or commentary to fit higher rates? If not, why don't just give the standard releases higher bitrates to begin with?
Adam: Why do you waste your time with that second-life bulls**t? Look at you. You're still in jail. You were in jail last week.
Jacob: Yeah, I'm a prisoner. It's called "doing hard time".

Starting out with a higher resolution is better because it gets more detail out of the transfer.

I also think it's unlikely, I believe it's more to tie in with The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I'm fairly sure the new transfer done for The Agony And The Ecstasy was done at 4K, possibly even 8K.

^ Even if initially color graded in P3 using a DCI compliant projector, one can convert such 4K movie content to the Blu-ray deliverable colorspace (Rec. 709)….just takes some time and effort - http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread....p3#post8524797

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre has definitely been confirmed to receive a 4K film transfer for its upcoming reissue on Blu-ray.

Updated database:

Clock Work Blue, A (with Jekyll and Hyde Portfolio, 2K)
Graduation Day

No specific release date for Graduation Day, but it is coming in October.
A Clockwork Blue is apparently March 28th.
