I think he just went amok with extremely expensive and obscure equipment. He could just have purchased an acoustic transparent screen and made a department behind it for everything. That way they at least would have a place to put the popcorn.

If it was me i would firstly use the money too design the optimal room for it all with lots of treatment. Then i would pick something like maybe the SIM2, Runco or the most high end JVC as a pj, Stewart Screen. B&W Diamond speakers, JL Audio subwoofers and Classe/McIntosh Amps (not needing as many separates as he has). Maybe they counted his media collection, overpriced cables and even the house itself in the value of it all. Still im pretty sure i could do it cheaper than he did.

Maybe there's better equipment for the millionaire but it can't be THAT much better.
