the thriller section was shot in native 3D and looks great but what sucks is the disc only has 13 min of 3D and it's scattered all over the place

I am not afraid to admit I am a huge MJ fan. I was a kid in the early 80s and he was everywhere and his music is a huge part of my life. This Is It is hard for me to watch because of his passing, but I do watch it from time to time. The 3D version has never been watched again since my first viewing. It's too annoying to take the glasses off and put them on at random times to immerse myself into it. It's neat, and Thriller is awesome, but it just isnt a repeat view for me.

Some pretty cool pop-out. In case anybody else wanted to see what he's talking about...

Also "Smooth Criminal"...

I'll have to go back and check that out, I was so disappointed in the lack of 3D in the main story that I didn't bother looking at the bonuses.

What I liked about the 3D videos in the bonus features is that the video was one solid piece instead of the back and forth to 2D like the actual movie did. I thought the 3D was very well done, probably some of the best I've seen. Being a big MJ fan myself, it's hard to imagine anyone who is a fan not having this in their collection. You really get to see the thought and effort he put into his performances!

I've seen those clips converted on my set, and those ALMOST make me want to rent the movie on B3D--
("Almost", as in, I'd rather watch Michael dance, than watch him direct his roadie-lackeys and hug everyone...)

I'll agree though, the movie came out a little too early in the 3D revolution--
Back in the days of Hanna Montana, when live-action 3D was only used for concerts and studios didn't know what to do with it.

I have been a massive Michael Jackson fan ever since I was a little kid. I recently got this 3D blu ray off ebay. I noticed that the 3D is really one of the best I have seen so I just went to watch the special feature section on the 3D blu ray after reading this topic.

The 3D in Thriller is truly the best 3D demo ever. The depth is amazing, the pop out effects are amazing too. MJ was truly a perfectionist.
Shame he never got to direct movies (apart from Moonwalker) like he wanted to do with his life.

I really love watching This is it but always have to turn it off towards the end before he sings Man in the Mirror, its too sad especially when the frame rate drops and it ends.

Cool awesome! Glad my post managed to make someone buy it lol Bear in mind that the 3D only lasts a few minutes. But if your a MJ fan then it will be worth it. To see it how it was supposed to be seen in concert and also if you don't already own the blu ray.

I don't know if they're even still manufacturing or offering this to people who buy 3D TVs. I don't see retailers selling it, though.
