I take back some of the titles I said, cause they aren't really WBs. But still, where's James Dean, Jazz Singer, Shawshank, Searchers, Wild Bunch, Blade Runner, Robin Hood, Virginia Woolf Yankee, Doodle Dandy, and so on and so forth.

P.S. It should've been an MGM, RKO, Warner Brothers, and Others box set.

This would be great if I didn't already own almost half of these already. At $500 I'll pass. When/if this get under $250 I will give it serious consideration.

Can you imagine pulling out this big set and flipping through 25 pages to find one movie? Seems like it would take a lot of time

Pointless box set. I have too many of these movies separately. I'll stick with my keep cases

Agreed. Most people already own a few titles from this set.

I almost wanna get the DVD one with 50 more movies, but most the extra ones are either movies I don't want or movies I already own. The 50 blu ray set, now that it's dropped in price, is SO worth getting for just over 7 bucks a movie. Awesome deal.

It really depends on how they package it I think. They mention a book stye packaging, and based on the width, it looks like it could be similar to the Bond 50 set. That set stores 24 discs broken into 2 books, so this set would just have to include 2 additional books, and perhaps make an extra page in each (since this set has 52 discs). I could see them breaking down into certain decade ranges which wouldn't be too hard to navigate.

I am so tempted to buy this set since I only own Unforgiven and Goodfellas out of this entire set.

$410 on Amazon.ca right now which is $8.20 for each movie.

I'm not going to lie as much as this release will literally be crap (just a big reissue of films under a different studio banner) I'm excited to hear what Tales from the Lot and The V.I.P tour are like. Tales from the Lot airs on TCM (February 3?) but I want to know now

That would require two 2-disc movies. I know Ben-Hur is one, but the only other 2-disc releases I noticed (The Dark Knight & Inception) each have an extras-only disc 2 so only disc 1 will make this set. (Even GWTW fits on one BD.) What's the other one on 2 discs?

(Edit: No second 2-disc movie; Disc 52 must contain Tales from the Lot and the tour. Again, much like Bond 50.)
BD players: PS3 Slim 250GB; Sherwood BDP-5004 & Insignia NS-BRDVD4 (both region-free); HP P7-1010 w/ LG WH12LS38K, AMD HD 6570, TMT 3, 5 & 6, PDVD 11, Nero 11
A/V hardware: Vizio E3D320VX 3DTV; Sony HT-SS380 (PC also has Hanns-G HL227 & Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers)

I was browsing IMDB.com and noticed they have an ad for this set on the main page, showing the packaging. And now I see the packaging is also up on Amazon. The movies are divided into two huge books

[Show spoiler]

The packaging/layout for the DVD set looks much nicer in my opinion

Looks like if anyone wants a copy of The Exorcist, I know where you can find one for about 350.00 and it comes with 49 bonus discs of some movies you might have heard about.

There are only seven or eight titles in the Blu-ray set that I don't already have individually, so I'll pass (although that special one-sheet would be nice). Now if this had come out four years ago, I'd already have it! But since a major percentage of the titles were MGM productions that just happen to be owned by Warner Brothers now, it's pretty ridiculous to call it the Best of Warner Brothers. There are tons of great Warner titles begging for Blu-ray (Busby Berkely, Cagney, Bogart, Flynn, Davis, etc.)
