I know Nolan would love to use them for entire movies, but yes, the sound issue always made it difficult for filming an entire movie because the mics would pick up the sound meaning that the lines would have to be added through ADR in post production. That's fine during some action scenes, or a few lines - but you wouldn't want to do a whole movie like that.

But Nolan is as big on IMAX as Cameron is on 3D - so I'm sure Nolan is working on overcoming these issues much like Cameron did to advance 3D filmmaking. If anyone is going to get it done it would be Nolan.

Who knows if/when they will be able to overcome the noise issue and film in all IMAX. Would be nice though.

he should just do what he did for 'Inception' film in both 65mm AND for this film: IMAX

It's good to know he has options, then; a good compromise would be the switching between IMAX and 65mm, but I did find the changing slightly jarring on the big screen. That said, the IMAX cameras do make the action sequences much more epic, and that has become synonymous with Nolan's style now, so it would be great if he continued it.

I just don't get why he doesn't film the non-IMAX scenes in 1:78 aspect ratio so we don't have the aspect switch all the time.

It's interesting to see what the directors of other upcoming projects partially filmed in IMAX will do with that idea, especially Star Trek Into Darkness.

NO! He should just stop recasting his previous actors. He's worse than Tim Burton at that. I really want him to work with Joaquin Phoenix, Daniel Day-Lewis, Johnny Depp, etc.

Yeah but he's never worked with someone that hasn't fit the role unusually. He's great at picking his actors.

Exactly -- shoehorning in a particular actor because they're famous mostly works to ruin films, not make them any better. That's the problem I have with people pointing out the Burton/Depp partnership: Burton has never cast Depp into a role he isn't perfect for. He was brilliant even in the otherwise mediocre Dark Shadows, and that role was tailor-made for him.

Nolan works well with the actors he's used before, and, if he feels they're the best for an upcoming role, he'll hopefully use them again.

No. There's nothing wrong with that. This film needs more Hardy.
