I have never seen it in an actual store, and it apparently was one of the earliest Blu-ray issues. It was not released a little over a year ago.

Perhaps you're mixed up? It came out Feb. 22, 2011:

I realize this thred is dedicated to titles released directly by Paramount, but some of the titles that were licensed out by Paramount to Lionsgate seem to be going out of print too.

Drop Zone
Hard Rain
My Bloody Valentine (1981)

They licensed those to Lionsgate, but that relationship ended sometime within the past few months. That's why Olive is releasing the movies from Paramount's Republic Pictures library (instead of Lionsgate/Artisan as in the past).

Default Breakdown (1997)

I'm waiting for Paramount to remaster and release Breakdown (1997) on blu-ray, starring Kurt Russel and Kathleen Quinlan.

The previous DVD release was not anamorphic (I believe it is currently OOP), so a remaster is required for a blu-ray release.

Didn't look through the entire thread but didn't see LET'S SCARE JESSICA TO DEATH listed. It's probably still available thru marketplace sellers, but it's pretty much OOP. It's one of those titles that made it out on DVD just before the studios lost interest in their catalog library and started farming stuff out.

Default 48 IP not OOP

48 Hrs isn't out of print (any more if it ever really was). Bought it off an endcap at Best Buy a few weeks ago and it's on Amazon "In Stock ... by Amazon" with no low count number.

Thanks for the notice, I'll remove it from the list.

As for OOP DVDs...this is a list of OOP Blu-rays.

This is one of the worst things that can happen when you find an Out-of-Print (OOP) movie.

This was at Half Price Books.

I was able to find a copy of Black Rain for $7.99 at Best Buy. I also saw The Love Guru for $7.99, but that movie is too awful to have in my collection.

I have removed Norbit from the list because it appears to be widely available at various retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy.

Yeah, some stores have a $7.99 bin. Forum members have been able to find some of the OOP Paramount titles in there.

Just removed Planes, Trains and Automobiles (it's being released everywhere on 11/06/2012).

Updated OP with this:

Quote:
*Note: Many of these will be re-released by Warner as of 01/01/2013, but I'm keeping this list intact for the time being. Some of these were 2-disc editions that might have only 1 disc when Warner re-releases them, so the deluxe editions are still OOP. This list also gives us a sense of what might go OOP again when the Paramount-Warner distribution deal ends after 2015.

Some titles, such as Iron Man 2-disc and Mission: Impossible 3 2-disc, remain with Paramount and are still OOP.
