As promised here are some posters my Wife and I got at Comic Con over the years. The pics aren't the best but they do the job.

Wow, this topic has been dead for awhile....

Some friends went to England and picked up a nice little movie memorabilia item for me while there. Back in the '30s, Players Cigarettes (John Player & Sons) used to include film star cards with packages of cigarettes (basically, just like baseball cards). They also provided (for 1 penny) printed paper albums in which you could mount and collect your film star cards (which were backed with adhesive, like a stamp).

The Album of Film Stars saw 3 editions, two in 1934 and a third in 1938. I believe there was also a special anniversary one too.

Anyway, my friends got me a third edition, complete with all of the stamps mounted. It's in very good shape, with only some minor staining here and there on the front cover. The back cover and the interior pages, all 19 of them, are in remarkably good shape, including all of the cards/stamps. All of them are bright and colorful.

I found these photos on the web to show the front cover, as well as the first page for cards/stamps of the third edition:

Fun stuff! And I'm grateful it doesn't smell like tobacco!

Mark

The Ghostbusters earned their Stripes and to relax decided to go play golf, but got locked in the Caddyshack by the Gopher with The Blues Brothers who are hiding from a Dragnet but luckily they all escaped to The Great Outdoors, where they met a ranger who turned out to be The Man Who Knew Too Little because everything he said was Lost In Translation. Upon leaving, they met St. Vincent who invited them to Rock The Kasbah after watching The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou.

I've got a few things from Titanic and a few figures. Not as cool as everyone else on here of course!

Very nice collection, love the Carla Laemmle photo, she was such a sweet lady. I want your Nosferatu statue.
