Not sure specific to Prom Knight but initially Synapse stated they couldn't do a 4K scan of Suspiria because the cost was prohibitive and that unless the license holder contributed to new scan the studio could not spring for 4K even on an epic film. Synapse has since done a 4K Suspiria master, but I found that tidbit informative.

Wow. Thanks for sharing. That is freakin' awesome!!! Didn't plan on getting Prom Night but after seeing that clip, will have to get it soon!

That is fun and happy. I noticed the two actresses had appeared in Buck Rogers, in two different episodes.
I hope that when the world comes to an end, I can breathe a sigh of relief, because there will be so much to look forward to.

The TV footage might just close the deal as I can't recall ever seeing it on TV. It just sounds like a great release from top to bottom even if it's not a favorite of mine. It's still an important early slasher that needs to be in my library, and I don't think my EB dvd is gonna cut it anymore, not knowing this exists. Curse you and your great work Synapse! (Just kidding, keep it up!!!!)

Just pre-ordered this off DiabolikDVD. I was gonna order off of Synapse but they are having some sort of ordering issue with the website and I didn't feel like calling. Has anybody on here pre-ordered from Diabolik? If so how long does it usually take to receive you pre-orders?

They send you the item whenever they get it in stock - even if its before the official release date.

Hmm. Well when I tried I would get to the part where you fill in your address and then click to go fill out you credit card info and it would take me back to the beginning. They posted on their Facebook they are having issues though do I should have known.

Is there any possible way Synapse could do a release of Carpenter's The Thing? Would love to see a new scan of that movie even at 2K vs the crummy Universal release.
JVC DLA-RS4810 front projector (ISF pro-cal'd)
Stewart StudioTek 100, CinemaScope 108" wide screen
Samsung 51" F5300 plasma (ISF pro-cal'd)
Oppo BDP-983 & BDP-103D Blu-ray player
Denon AVR-X3000 (Audyssey pro-cal'd)
Definitive Technology Pro Monitor 1000 (fronts)
Definitive Technology Pro Monitor 800 (surrounds x 4)

Universal titles tend to wind up at Shout Factory, and if they got it the best you could hope for would probably be the existing master without the additional DNR pass that was done for the Blu-ray compared to the HD-DVD. This wouldn't be a bad thing, as minus the DNR THE THING is one of the better Universal "catalog" transfers (like DUNE).

I really can't wait to get is one. The DVDs and VHS I've seen of prom night were both so awful that I have no doubt this blu ray is going to be like watching this movie we a fresh pair of eyes.
