At one of my local Walmarts (while searching for Oz 3D last night) I saw about 15 - 20 copies with slip and sticker.

Does this slipcover have any significant value? How much does it generally sell for?

Well color me disappointed. Guess I should have ordered John Carter instead of Roger as my final commitment to the DBDC. I called the 800 number and it seems that the slips are supposed to be pulled off the shelves and they aren't offering a replacement slip(You probably already knew this). I'm kind of hoping I can track down a slip locally now. Otherwise I might need to hit the trade list and see if I can find one.
Do you really have something to say or are you just in love with the sound of your keyboard?

Try Walmart as they didn't send back the slipcovers when everyone else did.

I would be will to buy one off somebody if anyone has one they would be willing to sell. It drives me nuts to have the rest of my Disney collection in slip covers and this without.

I have a slip that's in perfect condition. It was one of the last ones at Best Buy at the time. I ended up buying the steelbook, so I have no use for the slip anymore, if anyone's willing to purchase.

Printing on cardboard does look far better than viewing an insert through the plastic of a Blu-ray case. And there are many examples of really fantastic design in Blu-ray packaging - "Citizen Kane" and "Seven Samuari" among them.

One of the problems is that if you don't care at all about packaging, then you're giving credence to those who believe that all physical media should disappear and people should stream instead.

As for insurance, if your collection (of anything) is large enough, it actually should be insured. Over the years, my media collection was worth more than the hardware it played on. No one would laugh if one insured their TV or expensive sound system - why laugh if one chooses to insure the media they play on it that's actually worth more. Certainly, even a small BD collection is worth more than most BD players.
I agree, anyone collecting and amassing quantities of blu-rays or anything else they might be collecting over a number of years - these items should be insured. Last year I finally insured my dvd/blu-ray/film and comic collection to the amount of approx $100.000. At the time I had catalogued everything in excel.

I have of course even larger quantities of everything now, he-he...one thing is for sure: my collection is worth many times the value of my audio/video equipment...the only thing which is funny in this case is that my blu-ray collection will be worth a lot less in 10-12 years time when the next digital storage format is on the market...

If you want a slipcover you could try getting one by contacting disney. Not sure if they still have any available but worth a try. The details are in this thread. http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread....235673&page=11

Ok just figured I would let you know. Do you have something against credit and debit cards? I only have a debit which has never given me any problems. I used it with psn and xbox live with no issues. I know some people just do not trust them.
