Loving the positive reviews for this. Finally got it in the mail from BB today and will definitely watch it tonight. Very happy, knowing it's going to look pretty good.

Definitely going to check tomorrow. Had no idea this was coming out. Such a great film and it has the Afghan Whigs in it!

Definitely an acceptable transfer for this wonderful film. It really looked dull, but when they do the Christopher Robin/Winnie-the-Pooh scene, I think it was the first time there was any sunshine in the film and that scene looked very good to me, so some of the dullness in the look was clearly they way it was shot. Overall, the white specks were the only issue that bothered me and it was only a little bit. It sure could have been much worse, so I'd say 3 for pq and sometimes up to a 3.5.

The special features were fun. The first one was actually quite entertaining with the Jon Stewart comedy interviews, especially stalking Timothy Hutton and Natalie Portman.

Overall, thrilled to have this in my collection. Such an underrated film in my opinion. If you don't know the characters in this movie, you must have been hatched from an egg as an adult.

Excellent transfer for a $6 title. No digital manipulation of the image and an amazing amount of detail from what I assumed was an older dvd master. Due to the detail this could be a newer master and yes it is slightly dull. I remember the same from the dvd.

The review here worried me but I'm happy to hear it's a decent enough transfer. While it deserves the best transfer possible I'll at least accept one that's serviceable. Though someday Criterion should release this film . It's a favorite of mine.

I thought it looked pretty good and didn't feel the way the reviewer did at all.

BG is a great film; I would classify it as almost a "chick flick for guys". Excellent cast, great acting, and very funny/sad story.

Two of my favorite scenes are:

The hilarious & very truthful monologue by Rosie O'Donnell
[Show spoiler]as she spoke to M. Dillon & T. Hutton about how men tend to compare women to larger-than-life models, and then tend to ignore all who don't meet these super-perfect standards. An oversimplication, but there is a lot of truth to this...

The scene when all of the characters are sitting around the piano singing the Neil Diamond classic "Sweet Caroline". I liked how we later heard the actual song itself during the credits...

This film also seemed to be one of several high school reunion movies that came out in the '90's...this was later followed by "Grosse Point Blank" & "Romy & Michele's High School Reunion" (both 1997).

It was hilarious how one of the characters in BG mentioned that "The Breakfast Club" starred "The Estevez Brothers"...
