Based on comments in this thread, answer is YES. Both video and audio is improved on this 2013 blu-ray release, compared to the 2006 blu-ray version.

You'll find the blu-ray disc has recently been discounted further on Amazon.com to US$11.49 - I'm waiting for the price drop closer to CAN$10 (in Canada) before buying.

Is the The Fugitive 20th anniversary edition blu-ray release the same disc for both US and Canada?

I noticed on this site that there are more audio and subtitle tracks on the USA page compared to the Canadian page - also, both countries are region A, but the USA page lists region free disc, Canadian page lists region A?

Its at a nice price point right now on Amazon ($9) which is probably worth it considering it has the added documentary and lossless sound......how much of an upgrade it is over the VC-1 re-release though, I dont know. To buy this 20th ann would be my third purchase of it on blu which is really irritating me....I love the film but three times is absurd.

Found the likely answer at http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/9196/fugitive_20th.html & http://www.blu-raydefinition.com/rev...ay-review.html.
The Fugitive 20th Anniversary blu-ray release sold in US & Canada should be same editions.

Watched this last night. i have not watched it in many years.

Must say it is such a great film!

I would like to pick up more of Fords films on blu ray, but that are as good as the fugitive. What do you guys recommend?

Frantic is one of my favs. There's a double-pack with that and Presumed Innocent, which is another good one.

The remastered image only looks marginally sharper to my eyes in comparisons. If you're sensitive to jaggies then you'll want to 'upgrade'. The new colours look a bit teal as is common for new scans (it's not as bad as Enter the Dragon though). Doesn't seem worth it to me (I should say, before someone points it out, that I'm not bothered about multi-channel lossless audio).

The limited vertical resolution of the original transfer is my reason for upgrading. Like Enter the Dragon and Lethal Weapon 2, it's clearly a botch job. If that doesn't bother you, then it's not worth the upgrade for you. But yeah, I think it matters to quite a few of us. And so to us, having a proper 1080p transfer is well worth it. Especially at the current price point.

Has anyone had an audio glitch where they're not getting the DTS-HD MA track? I just popped this in and my Oppo is telling me that the audio is Linear PCM. I can't remember ever not getting DTS when it says DTS, so …
You can only have too much ammo if you're on fire or swimming.

I wish that Witness received a special edition treatment as such.

Thanks, Villiam, I figured it out. Yesterday was a really long, bad day and that was just one more part of it. Apparently I'd left the TV set to HDMI 1, the VTR connection, and that was affecting things. Don't think that's ever happened before. It looked fine and, other than being a little low, sounded fine. I just tested it after your post and, properly set up, it showed DTS. Great movie, glad they fixed the BD!
