From what I understood the American bluray is region free: I would obviously prefer to take it over the European release for the extra bonuses (mainly the audio commentary).
But now I've been debating about taking the Target special edition: could someone confirm me it is also zone free?
What about the extra disc with the 90 minutes documentary? Is it a zone free bluray or a DVD? If it's the second, I don't think I will be able to play it here at home :/
Thanks in advance!
Well, I emailed several sellers on eBay (no answers yet) before coming upon an item which seems to settle things (Target doesn't sell this anymore so it's eBay or another reseller). The full, new versions are selling for $40-$70 (2D only and 6-disc 3D). However, I found one seller who was selling the extra disc only (+slip, Like New) for $20. The high def picture clearly shows the bonus disc to be a region-free Blu-ray.

Thanks for the answer.

Bummer, I was hopping Target will still sell it :/ I usually don't buy on ebay.

Well, hopefully they will re-release the Avengers with a proper Bluray edition.
I'm still hopping for a long making off covering the pre/pro/post production can't believe that wasn't done, unless if that's what the Target edition was about.

The Target disc is called Building a Cinematic Universe - which is a 90-minute documentary apparently on the making of all of the Marvel movies.

Definitely not intended as a knock on you - you didn't take the picture. I just don't even know what kind of lighting you use to make a lite-blue disc look brownish-gray (?). And it was so out-of-focus! I would've posted one, but I couldn't find any as sharp and clear as the eBay picture (which can't be copied due to their embedded zoom feature). Anyway, here's the best one I could find & copy:

This needs to drop back down to $15 already, doesn't everyone in the world own a copy now? (feel free to joke, "Not you!")

Best Buy was selling the 3D version for $20 for two weeks not too long ago.

Best Buy has it for $20. If a store near you has it, the $5 DVD trade-in is going on again - that would get it to $15. Really worth getting!

I never saw the $20 3D. It's been $30 at the local BB for ... ever? Your link just went to the page where you posted about the big set, right?

Yes, the big box set was $20 -- cheaper than the 3D combo pack by itself.
