Actually the US release / Canadian release of any BD is always the same thing. Just Canada sometimes adds French to their cover arts making it bilingual (Eng/Fre) but pretty much everything else is the same, same tech specs, same special features, etc.

You should know that! Lol

So yes, US release has Spanish

My copy came today and I have to say, you won't be dissapointed.

The picture and sound is great and it looks like Sony didn't scrub the grain and detail away. The Tea Party feature is an especially touching feature for some reason. Its odd knowing that Pam Ferris isn't evil in real life

Thanks for sharing this Count Orlok

Really looking forward to this release, though I love the movie a lot Im going to wait on a future price drop or whenever Best Buy does their Upgrade & Save program.

You're welcome! I think it's well worth the 14.99. This is the first time I've seem it since its VHS days. I don't think it's a movie BB would carry in store. They hardly sell any good catalog movies anymore.

It should be able to go down to to $9.99 in a few months.

By the way does it come with a Slipcover?

I am so glad that I got this movie on Blu-ray. This was always one of my favorite movies when I was kid. Almost 20 years later and it still remains one of my favorites.

So...my digital copy has been removed because I've lost access rights? Has anyone else experienced this yet?

Blind-bought this recently (I was in my early twenties when it was first released, and never got around to watching it), and it's a charming film, full of Danny DeVito's off-kilter camerawork and dark sense of humor without tipping over into mean-spirited overkill. Had I been a decade younger in 1996, I'm sure I would have LOVED this, and yet even discovering it now, it's really fun and enjoyable. The "tea party" reunion featurette on the Blu was a nice touch, although I'll always think of Mara Wilson from her Nostalgia Critic appearances from now on.

It really is an enjoyable film. My sister used to rent it frequently in the 90's and so I frequently caught bits and pieces for years. Like you I was just a bit to old to ever really want to sit down and watch it at the time, but since then I've acquired it via the Sony buy 5 get 1 deal and am eager to show it to my daughter when she gets a bit older and has the attention span to sit down and watch the movie.
For Sale: Phantasm Remastered & Phantasm II (Both include Slip Covers) $24 Shipped for Both in the US.

For me the film is half hilarious, half uncomfortably brutal. 100% Danny DeVito movie.
